I can confirm that as of today this quest is still not working correctly, that's a total of 3 years this quest has remained erroneous.

I can confirm that you are incorrect. As per the post on the previous page, aim at the top of the roof and it works. It didn't seem to work for me at first either, until I read this thread and tried that.

The center of your green target should be in the middle of the peak of the rooftop.

thanks for the information, you have to hit that one building exactly right or you don't start it.

But what do you have to do to get control of the harpoons? I keep getting the message that I am out of range. The questgiver says to go to the northernmost dock. I've tried all the harpoons there.

Be at the correct harpoon. There are two different harpoons for two different quests. (Hence, why you are getting the "out of range" message)

Mauler has it just right. I tried for several minutes without luck till I saw his post about the middle of the roof and poof the quest is done. Thank you so much for your post. It helped a ton.

I stll need help on mine i can get into the harpoon but for some reason its super foggy and i cant aim towards the buildings if i try to shoot through the fog the hand thingy doesnt even light up :'(

Thank you Mauller. It was very helpful! I shot about 50 harpoons at the last building before resulting to looking it up, and I'm glad you posted how to do it, I could NOT figure it out.

The Harpoon you want is on top of the cliff on the opposite side of the buildings you want to destroy. The quest certainly makes it seem like you want one of the harpoons down at the docks, but that is not the case at all.

So I have come to the conclusion that you have to hit the harpoons at a certain part of the building for it to register. Kind of annoying took me way longer to complete then it should have. Blizz needs to widen the radius of where you are supposed to hit the building.

For me this quest only lets me target the far right building. The green marker disappears once I attempt to place it on the other two houses. Really annoying. I've even abandoned he quest and tried it over to see if that would fix the issue that I was encountering. No luck.

Yea its still bugged, I've killed the 8 defenders and Ive destroyed the big building but the 2 small ones are out of range on either harpoon. I dunno what else to do for this damn thing except, leave it alone

It isn't bugged. I just did this quest about 2 minutes ago on a hunter I'm leveling up. I used the above quoted information from Mauller. It worked like a charm.

All 3 buildings you can hit right on the top of their roofs and get this thing done.

Yes!!! It is not working. It still has not been fixed. It probably never will. I couldn't even get The buttom to start the harpoon to activate. Why has this not been fixed by now? We are into Warlords of Dreanor and it still don't work. C'mon Blizz, please fix this already...? :)

as some one was saying earlyer you need change your view distance... if it has low then you cant shoot all the way ...... esc, system, graphics, view distance, high

As of June 21st 2015 this quest is still bugged. I was able to get on the gun but buildings took no damage and no defenders showed. This is bad since the original post that it is bugged is from at least five years ago.

The quest has never been bugged. Read the rest of the thread to find out how to complete it istead of just the first posts.
