It finally ended

Race to World First is finally finished.

Preservation Evoker nerfs coming soon I hope

Ended sooner than I was expecting to be honest.

Excited to see if Blizzard has any more meaningful tuning coming. Crossing my fingers for the coveted Priest rework to happen in this expansion at least.

Next week they’re getting a 5-10% nerf.

Those estimates assume you were abusing the Vers double stacking which if you check logs a lot of people weren’t. It won’t even be a slap on the wrist to most Pres evokers.

That’s just the 1st pass they want to see how much of an impact it has before moving to an actual hard % nerf.

It likely won’t matter. The only competition they have is disc and even if disc has higher throughput the fact Pres is 4 buttons for their big raid healing instead of 20 will likely result in them being take just for the ease of use and decreased opportunity for mistakes, which in turns leads to better consistency.

  1. 4 Buttons
  2. Lower cooldown
  3. Actually hits all players in the raid, where as you can flat out miss people with atonement leading to dead players
  4. Has another Emerald Communion Ramp
  5. Has a 1 button raid wide damage reversal via Rewind
  6. 2 x very power 1 minute Externals
  7. Bloodlust
  8. AoE damage reduction for party
  9. Ability to give other healers cast while moving
  10. Ability to give raid an additional movement ability
  11. Doesn’t need to set up a rescue/life grip chain to be able to move around the battle field such as on Rashanan
  12. Can give another healer 3% healing and provides them mana
  13. Better self defensives
  14. Knock-ups, knockbacks, and Interrupts for add fights like Ansurek and Broodtwister
  15. … I’m tired of typing at this point.

Sounds like they should have extremely low throughput with all that utility.

Honestly, at this point, PreVoker and Resto Shaman feel like the only ‘complete’ healers and I’d rather that Blizzard just rework everyone else to feel as good to play.

It’s not design that’s causing Evokers to be massively overtuned throughput-wise by the way.

Not sure why when anyone calls out silly stuff like current Evoker tuning, you always get one person saying, “hmmm idk. I’d rather they just buff everyone instead of nerfing teehee  “

As far as a rework for Priests specifically, that’s something we’ve been asking for since the beginning of Dragonflight basically. They can crank up Priest tuning as much as they want, and they have at points. It’s obviously not working. The class needs to be refreshed completely.

Priest tuning and rework is definitely something they aren’t even looking at. We’ve been a dead forum for blue posts for a few years and as far as community manager posts go they are all basically them telling us to “sit down and shut up” or to go play a class that blizzard cares about if were going to complain.

Literally the most recent community input from someone considered special enough to give us colored text was that we give another person 3-4% increased DPS with PI so we should be happy and understanding that we perform roughly 20% lower on DPS on average, because the other person getting 4% is making up the difference… Somehow.

Once you add in the complexity of Disc or Holy compared to its output and the output of simpler healers like Evoker… Priests just seem like an internal joke at Blizz HQ.

Its doubtful we’ll see any major rework this expansion. Hunter has the attention currently and PTR indicates we wont be seeing anything this season or next. Maybe Season 3 of TWW if were lucky but we will likely not be seeing anything until next expansion. Right now they have the 20th anniversary coming up, Season 2 and Season 2 tuning and testing and they are still trying to do the mid season updates to help the live service structure feel more live and less “every six months”.

Though, by the time we get to next expansion priest might be such an abandoned class that they back burner any rework for a more popular class first. Other classes with much are also asking for reworks or updates to specs that would be easier and hit significantly higher player populations.

Prevokers are overtuned as a byproduct of the beta. Mistweavers and Holy Paladins were stronger then them on overall hps, but both got nerfed. I already saw weeks ahead that Prevokers were going to be #1 on hps after those two got nerfed.

I believe Blizzard deliberately left Prevokers to be #1 on hps because they like to make 1-2 healers special every season, but once the world first guild started stacking them it became a problem they couldn’t ignore. They’ll hit them with the “bug fix” nerf tomorrow, watch their performance, and then probably hit them with a hard % 1-2 weeks after.

Resto Shamans are a problem for M+ because they’re 50% of the healers atm. It’s a combination of them being overtuned and player perception. Holy Priest to me feels incredibly strong and is a sleeper healer imho. I’m expecting Resto Shamans will nerfed by 11.0.5 and post 11.0.5 they’ll be more of an even distribution of healers.

There’s no “meta” tank atm because tanks feel like squishy bean bags. The majority of dungeon wipes are happening because the tank gets obliterated and that’s a combination of player skill and wowhead builds and guides emphasizing damage over survivability.

I’m gonna be real, I don’t care one whit about ‘balance’. More-over, I was not talking about tuning.

Every healer should have either Brez or Lust, every healer should have strong mobility options, every healer should have an interrupt; and every healer should have intuitive toolkits. What Disc priest does in ten buttons, Prevoker can do in two with Engulf; that’s not fun, it’s just indicative of Disc’s design needing to be looked at. (Note: This doesn’t mean that Disc’s base concept of DPS → Healing needs to change. Just the vehicle.)

So, yeah, Holy and Disc feel like Grandpa. Tuning is actively irrelevant; I am talking about the fact that things that aren’t Resto Shaman, Prevoker or even Mistweaver to a lesser extent just feel worse to play due to their tools not matching modern standards.

Since you replied to the forum in general and not to what Jaquelinah was talking about, I didn’t realize exactly what you meant.

I think everyone agrees Priest needs love design-wise for sure. Shaman in general couldn’t be a better example of a success story through a class rework. Priest needs that at this point. It’s just a matter of when.
