I was excited to try some solo shuffle and take a break from wrath, but wow have I never felt so useless as a healer as I do on my MW monk in RSS. I feel like I’m working 3x harder than the rdruid/evoker across the way, and 2x harder than my dps, but stuck never doing better than 4-2 in a lobby, and generally losing MMR on 3-3 ties.
I’m mashing keys like crazy to keep dps up, landing solid cc chains, kiting dps without peels, smashing totems, psyfiends, banners, etc because my dps don’t know how, and it feels like it’s for nothing.
If the team is uncoordinated I’m almost always going to lose on mana to a druid/evoker.
Only dps seem really capable of going 5-1, 6-0 consistently, so you’re stuck getting 5-40 rating per game, and generally the healers have the highest MMR in the lobby.
All I want is to push out of this rating into some players who are actually fun to play with, but it seems like a giant waste of time.
I really wanted to like MW, and I really wanted to play RSS, but it’s making me so toxic and frustrated, hopefully we’ll see this fixed in the next month, going to take a break for the next week at least.
There are massive buffs incoming for MW by tuesday, on paper it should put them on the same level as Prevoker/Rdruid, but we’ll see. I’m leveling mine as we speak.
Same for holy paladin. It’s abysmal, and we’re getting our melee wings nerfed on the PTR. I’m beginning to hate this mode passionately, and I’ll not queue one additional game over conquest cap.
monk really needs help with mana, and hopefully smarter fistweaving heals, otherwise its a nice idea but mostly pointless as it never goes where its needed, if i try to range heal for any length of time I go oom, if I fistweave people die, usually me
healing in solo shuffle is troll in general. most dps players don’t think.
mw also happens to be a healer that needs their team to not constantly mico-line/range; which is a common occurrence in solo shuffle. (due to SooM global, not being able to move while casting like evoker, and not having a majority of instant casts like rdruid)
I may be the only one really enjoying monk. I had my Mastery-monk 2100+ in RSS. This is my fistweave monk and I’m at about that MMR. I just don’t have the time to grind out games yet.
I feel like both styles of healing are really, really good. Mana isn’t terrible, and with the nerfs to prevoker mana we’ll probably be in line with them~ additionally playing smart, and getting a sip of mana in a game is still a thing.
Fistweaving~ unless you que into Amatox running alt 2s, is exceptionally fun. Critting rogues for about 100k RSKs and doing instant 275k heals. I honestly feel like it might be broken, and if they ever make it a smart heal then you’ll see insane nerfs. The +7 seconds after leaving it might be a little too much honestly. It was already pretty overtuned as far as healing output is concerned.
Healing in general, across the board doesn’t feel great, and healing in RSS feels worse. Think the important thing is to have fun, and take a break when you feel that toxic-level of tilt coming.
My Hpal has been benched I just can’t deal with how frustrating it is to play when my Rshams riptides can crit over 140k insta and I can only achieve that sort of heal from a Req judgment or something on the Hpal it’s a bit of a joke. Then you vs Rdruids/Prevokers and it’s really feeling like you need your dps to cheese a win out fast.
just going to leave these here for the monks to enjoy. Buffs are buffs. We went a while in slands without ever getting more than one knob turned. Any change is good change.
