Let’s be honest—Honor levels in their current state are stale, bloated, and ultimately meaningless beyond personal flexing.
I’m saying it: It’s time for Blizzard to reset Honor levels.
And while they’re at it? Give us new prestige icons and new rewards to chase.
Here’s why.
The System Is Bloated
Right now, Honor levels are just a massive, outdated grind. For newer or returning players, seeing people sitting at Honor Level 400, 500, or 700+ is completely demoralizing. It doesn’t represent skill or competitiveness—it just shows who’s queued the longest.
There’s no real sense of accomplishment anymore. The bar keeps getting higher, but the rewards have been stagnant for years.
No Real Incentive After Level 500
Let’s be real—what’s the last reward that actually mattered? The Prestigious mounts were cool the first time around, but after that? Nothing but a number.
There’s no seasonal reset, no prestige recognition, no visual progression. Once you get past the legacy rewards, Honor just becomes background noise.
A Reset Brings Meaning Back
Resetting Honor levels would bring purpose and excitement back to casual and competitive PvP.
- Everyone starts fresh – creating a fair playing field each season or expansion.
- Prestige becomes skill-based again, not just time-based.
- New rewards = new motivation to log in and grind BGs, arenas, and war mode.
And most importantly? A reset gives Blizzard the opportunity to modernize the system.
New Prestige Icons – Please
One thing we desperately need is a visual update to represent your current Honor status.
Imagine:
- Clean, updated Prestige icons that change as you climb
- Tiered icons with seasonal color variants
- Animated borders or glow effects for higher prestige ranks
- Icons showing up in scoreboards, PvP frames, even guild listings
A good icon system adds instant visual identity to PvP players. Right now, we have none of that.
New Rewards = More Engagement
Let’s bring back the excitement of earning new cosmetics:
- Seasonal elite weapon transmogs
- Prestige-exclusive mounts and pets
- PvP-themed armor sets and cloaks
- New titles, toys, and banners
- Even war mode-only visual effects
Give us a reason to care about Honor level again—because right now, most players completely ignore it once the mounts are done.
Final Thoughts
Resetting Honor levels doesn’t erase history—it opens the door for a better system. One that rewards active participation, encourages competition, and actually respects players’ time.
PvP needs progression that feels good, not just “exists.” And this is Blizzard’s chance to breathe life back into a part of the game that’s gone stale.
