But if m+ wasn’t the great source of gear that it is (not really the case anymore), no one would do it.
I don’t quite get this statement.
I am pretty sure they do right now?
This would be absolutely horrible.
I guess I am not sure why gear has to be segregated?
I don’t see what problem we are trying to fix by making gearing harder.
It varies, but for me I have friends in my guild that I can’t leave, and this guild will never be a CE guild. The leadership doesn’t want that and many of the other members don’t want that. It also takes an IRL opportunity cost to keep a structured raid schedule. I keep a schedule, but many of our dudes don’t.
You need to be equally geared with raiders to compete with raiders. I had a really hard time getting into pugs for +15 until like week 15, when m+ players finally got past 215 - 6 weeks behind the average raider. I was locked out of my endgame, gate kept by raiders for weeks. Not fun.
IDK about mages, but I gained 1500 dps going from 215 to 220. It’s kind of a big deal because power gains aren’t linear. The higher you go, the bigger that difference becomes. Even now, I’m having trouble pushing past KSM because (until yesterday) I wasn’t 220.
I’m not saying it’s not possible, I’m saying me, mr 220 balance Druid sitting in the queue is going to be ranked 10th or so out of dps applicants to a +17.
I feel opposite. You aim for a piece now not a carrot and hope to win a lottery. I know most of my friends feel the same. I personally hated running things over and over for a potential forge. It was by far the stupidest system in history.
That just hasn’t been my experience with raiding. Now I’m not much of a mythic raider this tier, but I’ve made decent prog and even CE once in BFA. If you’re 220 and I’m 224, class balance makes more difference in your dps than those 4 ilvls do.
I think that’s the wrong way to think about it. I was running m+ constantly all the time anyway, forges were just a nice occasional bonus. They’re not good as an objective.
Yeah lets dead the idea of dungeons ever sharing a lockout with raids. It would probably kill this game.
But that’s literally the point of a gear piece, it’s an objective, something you aspire to get.
It shouldn’t be a stat lottery, and I actually find this argument hilarious.
We have to work within the confines of what’s in front of us. We can’t just have two parallel gearing systems, because some people will do both, and then some people will feel compelled to do both. Also, blizzard is timegating gearing. They don’t want anyone to get max item level before week 25 of a season.
I didn’t say it was great, I said it was better than what we have.
And I am generally thinking you were never in the forums during BfA, because few liked TF/WF.
I know you are super unhappy, you want more for less, heck you have created how many threads on the subject, thing is though so many of us don’t.
Like everything else I never spoke up on that ended up miffing me when they changed it, this is something I will stand by. You can progress just fine, do your own keys everything that the people who got better gear than you did. The only thing stopping you is you.
Hey us baddies need all the help we can get!
Honestly I do like this idea. It seems crazy considering today’s Meta but in all honestly it makes sense. We played for so long that best gear was from Raiding. Dungeons are great too and more accessible, it’s a fair balance to have to chose between a path, it would remove a lot of toxicity. A bit in each instead of a LOT in each.
That isn’t anybody’s fault but Blizzards. Having to rely on stretching out the pathetic amount of content they release.
Gear is a means to an end. Personally, as long as it’s not pay to win, I don’t care where gear comes from as long as its dropping very often.
We need less RNG. Running the same dungeons over and over is stupid. Whether it be for a piece of gear or relics.
You have me confused with someone else. I don’t want more for less. If you’re not going to commit to the conversation, don’t bother trolling in here.
I did. That’s how I got my KSM and that’s how I keep unlocking vault upgrades every week. But you know what? It would be real ducking nice to be able to just join a queue every now and then and not be the 10th highest item level person on the freaking list. I spend 4 hours every night of the week doing m+. The problem is that going above +15, m+ is competitive. Getting into groups is competing with raiders. There’s no recourse. There’s nothing I can do, no challenge I can overcome, that will put me on equal footing with even the most bottom barrel, grey-parsing raider.
And that’s just wrong. M+ is a pillar of endgame, by Ions own words. It should be just as viable a path as raiding or pvp.
I personally like the system we currently have. 3 viable ways to get end game loot. The minor difference in item level between them is not a big deal. If you participate in all 3, you get a slight advantage, but if you don’t you can still do everything you need to do.
Gearing is good right now imo. It’s nice for alts as well.
The idea that people should stop playing, or play in a way they know is less effective because “you’re not world first so hurr durr” is stupid.
Nobody is forcing anyone to play the game. Should no one play, or are you just trying to convince casuals to play so badly they’ll give up and stop tainting your game with their presence?
The idea that the entire game should be balanced around the top 1% with zero consideration about the overwhelming majority is a bad business decision on blizzard’s part.
I have not. Here’s one of your hits…
You pulled the same thing on me when you tried this argument before, you actually tried to say I was trolling when clearly I am not. This doesn’t help you “plight for handouts”.
Or you could run that key you upped. Or not capable of forming a group through the finder? Come now. You keep omitting the thing holding you back that is you, instead of trying you appear in endless threads demanding handouts, and really it’s always the same handful of people
And it is, but you can’t be bothered to start you own, you just want everyone to welcome you with open arms. That person who has 10 ilvls higher that you are clearly so jealous about did the time. You will get their gear as catch up at patch, but then I am sure you will be here once again saying everything is not fair, because let’s be real here that is your problem.
So, is a reading comprehension problem or what’s up with you?
You quoted me obviously not asking for handouts, but asking for rewards equal to pvp and raids.
How would you describe someone being blatantly hostile, misrepresenting my argument and then calling me names and disparaging my character? The word is troll. You’re a trolling troll and you should troll somewhere else.
I can. And do. But I can’t control what my key becomes. And GL putting a +17/+18 group together below 220 as a dps. It’s not happening. Maybe if I just wait 10 more weeks I might get a good spread on the roll of my key and be able to put one together just in time for the end credits while raiders and pvpers make up the entire ladder in MY endgame.
You don’t understand the problem. You don’t understand me or my points. Go somewhere else and never speak to again.
