So my first issue, why is it so large? 16g? Is it seriously supposed to be that big?
Second, i’m getting terrible DL speed. I can typically DL stuff at 300mbps, but I’m currently getting 0bps. Even more troubling is what seems to be an overall lack of any response from Blizz on the variety of issues people are having today. That’s pretty typical though.
yes the DL speeds were terrible … I would love to know why 16 gb myself and why my latency to world is now 5000 … WAS 80 this morning
No replies, no fix either. And people were having these same issues trying to DL the patch early. So this isn’t even a problem that just came about today. But Blizz has better things to do, like developing some corny mobile game for big brother Activision.
Another issue with patch to add is that people are not able to enter the world.

That’s what we get for trying to play on patch day I guess.
I always play on patch day…this is actually the first day they took the entire time before opening the servers.
They must not have enough associates hired to keep everything running smoothly.
I fixed mine by going through each addon to see which was causing the crash. It seemed to be fixed once i disabled Details! So if you use that addon for a damage meter, I would suggest disabling it from the character screen, log in, then enable it once in-game. I’m sure there will be a fix soon.
well 4 hours later and have logged in. Bliz must have fixed something or i squeezed in cause i didn’t change anything.
I update this game on my laptop, and THREE externals and I always have the same issue to the point the update disconnects my internet. Blizzard’s default answer in the almost 10 years I’ve been playing has been ‘It’s not us it’s YOU’ but it only happens when I update this game. I couldn’t even get to the forums while attempting to load the game, but every other site I attempted to get on worked fine. Once I closed the main sign in page (ie. the game itself) everything worked fine again.
As far as the dl speeds; this happens routinely. When I did my forst update I was getting 8-10mbps, then it eventually slowed, slowed some more and slowed to where 8 BYTES (yes, BYTES) dwindled down to zero.
They shouldn’t make those of us who are not going to buy into the new expansion dl anything but actual improvements to the game, but if that was the case, we wouldn’t downloading anything at all. I haven’t been able to play for more than an hour since Mondayeve/Tuesday morning prior to their day-long “scheduled maintenance” (a.k.a. ‘We’re taking a day that you’ve paid for and will be breaking the game and attempting to fix it for the next week/month and you will still be charged the same $ for it’).
I tell ya’ I really don’t know how anyone would buy this new expansion EARLY just to pay for what will absolutely amount to several months of problems like this and a host of others.
