After playing my Dracthyr Evoker for the past several days, there are still some notable bugs with empowered spells:
Using an empowered spell will grey out your action bars until you use another one (this one may have been recently hotfixed? If not, it’s a huge annoyance.)
Even with the default cast option for empowered spells of press and hold to empower/press and release to cast empowered lvl 1, sometimes the spell will just keep on empowering up to full as if you are holding the key down when you’re not.
Sometimes after a key press on an empowered spell to just cast the lvl 1 version, it will go up until the 1st lvl where it should cast - except it just doesn’t cast. Nothing will happen. It just stops. Doesn’t go on CD. It’s as if you never pressed it. This happens frequently with heroism on so maybe it’s a haste problem.
Another issue that may be tied to haste is that when the single key press does work as intended and it fires a lvl 1 empowered spell, sometimes it’ll get cast right before the lvl 1 threshold, sometimes it’s on the line (as it should be) and sometimes it gets cast slightly past the line. This discrepancy shouldn’t exist, it’s almost like a server tick response issue or something.
I’m just 1 guy, after playing for only a few days, and these are some glaring bugs that I’ve seen. Anybody else notice any other problems with empowered spells?
I’ve definitely seen the first one. Regularly. TRP3 and/or Details are the only 2 addons I’ve been running, neither of which touch the actionbar. (and it still does it with Details disabled too)
Note that for me, it’s only been Fire Breath or whatever its called. The Healing version has not caused it, and other empowered spells, like the healing one that hits more targets the more you empower it, have not caused it. Not sure on DPS-specific empowered spells other than the fire breath, haven’t played DPS yet.
Edit: I HAVE been using the “show cooldown numbers” in-game setting. Maybe it’s something tied to that, somehow? Might try turning it back off and seeing if the issue persists.
Same. I reported it to the beta forums as well and several there reported they also experience it. Do it’s legitimate, multiple people reporting the issue .
I’ve experienced all of these except it just not casting. It could be an addon but I’d have absolutely no idea what it is. Normally it’s been a minor annoyance but last night it was real bad making everything massively annoying.
This I’ve noticed, but only happens when I’m spamming my abilities. Maybe you’re doing the same, but as long as you don’t spam, this should not happen.
The grayed out hotbars happens a lot. Also spells charging to full with a single key press. Another bug ive noticed not exclusive to evokers but with all combo point classes is the combo points on your player frame and the ones underneath the player becoming out of sync for whatever reason. I am running no unit frame addons or anything like that
Nah I wasn’t spamming, just a single key press. I think it’s a haste thing cause if you have heroism popped or whatever the evoker version is called, I forget, for 40% haste - this happens constantly. It’s not huge, but it still shouldn’t be a thing, it should cast at the exact same time every time. Go hit up a target dummy and go through dragonrage rotation with heroism on a few times, you’ll see it.
Can confirm. I do alot of pvp and all of these still happen regualalry. When you cast the instant empower gold spell to make all empowered spells onstant cast, thats when it happens the most. Also recovering from Cc or cancled empowered spells cause the bars to keep casting and nothing fires. I can replicate both of these almost at will.
Tbh this is the only one that happens to me that you mentioned.
After a bunch of m+, breath sometimes would just not cast at 1 empower. Im already queuing up surge and have to recast breath again.
Another I’ve had. My breath will be lit up to cast, but I won’t have enough resources to cast. So I’ll mash it a few times before realizing I need to cast flame or azure lol.
It doesn’t happen often, but it does waste a few seconds on my rotation.
