Issue with BG blitz and other rated pvp ILVL RQ

This is more of an issue I’ve noticed in BG blitz, but it does happen in Solo Shuffle to. People with PvE gear will queue because they have the ILVL required and it is a dampener on the team that has most of these PvE’rs on team.

I think there should be an character specific achievement for when you get a full set of honor/pvp gear that should be required for Solo Shuffle and BG blitz. Just an idea!

If you want a fair eSport experience gear shouldn’t factor into instanced, rated PvP at all. It’s just an arbitrary gated mechanic that adds nothing to this facet of WoW.

  • It’s a barrier for new players so that (even though gearing is easier than ever) new blood is scarce so you just have the same players cycling in and out.
  • Makes it difficult to discern your own skill issues from gear disparity.
  • Makes switching specs or adapting to class changes tedious.

Definitely do think its bars entry for new interested people. Infact this isn’t an issue a lot of the time for me. Today was my first experience of seeing this type of thing happen tbh. Me and 1 other guy were the only ones able to keep up with the other team, we had a ret that only did a total of 5k dmg. The game was so lop sided idk even if the best player in the world could make a difference. It was frustrating, it felt like i wasted my time. However looking back at it i guess it was over quick… Queues are definitely a lil faster for blitz i find to.

I think at the very least though since you do get these fully pve geared players, like not even trinkets on… So maybe they could make pvp trinkets free somehow and required to queue? Just kind of shooting in the dark here for some solution so games feel like you have a fighting chance.

Wow esports is a legacy thing now. They don’t even host tournaments IRL anymore.

That’s unfortunate, but it’s just part of the game. I don’t actually expect blizzard to change item level requirement or no longer count pve gear as gear item level towards meeting the current requirements to queue.

If someone queues with pve gear, they either are or are not skilled enough to make up for the lack of versatility with overwhelming skill. And you’ll find out that during the match.
