This needs a Bajillion likes so they will see it or Everyone make a free transfer thread.
And people will go to the new servers and began leveling knowing that they can return to play with friends and guildies when the ques die down.
Problem solved, and you don’t even have to pay me anything.
DO NOT WAIT to do this until next week or the week after, do it NOW.
People have time scheduled off for the launch.
The ques are massive right now on a majority of the pvp servers.
PEOPLE ARE NOT SWITCHING TO THE NEW SERVERS.
Give the free transfers, make a statement about it and move on.
Or if you’ve really just been sitting in queues the past couples days and/or made hardly any headway in the whole 2 days (it’s classic jogging afterall), go ahead and coordinate with whichever guilds to roll new toons on the new servers.
Only thing lost are the names. All the free server transfers in the world won’t get you Steve or Chucknorris! And probably have to give up most of your names if you didn’t reserve them on multiple servers. Remember we had the option to make 50 toons all over the new servers, and people probably just getting to level 30 on one toon so far assuming they were on a server with no queue. Probably best for you all to just go ahead and roll the other toons, as blizzard asked a week before launch, before you let more weeks go by.
Edit: And if anyone wants to flame me, be my guest. I’ve had no queue or crowds of streamers the past couple days and been playing happy as a clam. Just puttering around here on lunch break at work. All I can say is ‘neener-neener’.
It’s called roll another toon. It’s not like anyone had time to get 20 alts to max level. Only mild challenge is guild agreeing which server to reroll on and deal with not getting their own names, but that only gets worse if you wait for free transfers to show up.
People already rerolled like 4 times only to be met with queue after a few of hours playing.
Not to mention it’s not that easy to make a bunch of people all reroll their lv.20+ characters to be able to meet with the other half of the group of friends who had to roll on another servers because of queues, now both servers have long queues and time-invested in them.
Server transfers + new servers are the best option and would hurt no one at all.
I feel like a temporary swap is not okay. They need to have a window where people are making a permanent commitment to one of the new servers > swap and then that is it.
I have 3 level 12-13 characters now, leveling with a new person that gets through the queue, while my leveling partner with the other characters are stuck in queue
First off names can be important to people, just because its not to you doesn’t mean having to re roll after getting your name isn’t an issue. Obviously blizzard takes huge stock in people and naming their characters or they wouldn’t have bothered allowing you to log in early and reserve your names.
Second, not everyone is on your schedule. Yes during the day hours when all the kids are at school the low pop servers have small ques, but they still have ques. News flash, not everybody can take a lunch to play wow or even playing during the day in fact the majority is the oppositive. Most gamers of wow classic ARE ADULTS.
It’s not best for us to just “re roll” on a new server once the “low” pop one that we re rolled to becomes “high” pop and has a que. This exact thing has happened to people several times now.
This is a 100% fixable issue that isn’t even being addressed. If it is being addressed then they need to come out and say something because adding a couple of new servers isn’t fixing anything.
Just because you’re okay with re rolling 17 times on 5 different servers doesn’t mean anybody else is and that SHOULD NOT be the norm. “Just keep re rolling new servers until the crowds die down and then go to your permanent server”. That is absolutely ridiculous.
