Damn that’s a bummer. It’s the only reason I resubbed. A bunch of sites said it was coming in this patch so I got some toons to 60 and was waiting for regular flight today.
I guess I’ll just come back in 10.7 or whatever if I still feel like it.

But they did add dragonriding races in Kalimdor! I assume this is to test the waters to allow dragonriding everywhere.

I don’t remember seeing that anywhere. There are some interviews that have said it might be coming at some point in the future but nothing confirming it for this patch.

It was on icy veins. I guess they jumped the gun on it and I took their word for it. The ability static flight is in the tooltips or whatever so it’s coming in some form. They still want us using dragon riding and that’s a no go for me.

We were supposed to get old world dragon-riding based on datamining. With a toggle and maybe dragon isles “static” flying but it seemed blizzard changed their minds for unknown reasons and old world dragon riding has been relegated to an awkward Event.

I don’t read Icy Veins very much so I must have missed that. If that is what they posted then they either jumped the gun or made assumptions based off of something a dev said and passed it off as facts.

Yeah I just don’t get this company. Features are cool. Forcing people to partake in it is not cool.
I like transmog a lot so I use it. If you don’t like it, you don’t have to. That’s what makes it awesome.
Dragonriding is cool and I see why a lot of people like it. I don’t and I can’t play normally without being forced to use it. Not awesome.
What about me flying normally breaks the game for anyone else? They dig their heels in on everything. Got rid of borrowed power only to add in another mandatory “system”. It’s tiresome.

No one changed their mind. Datamining some things does not equal “this is absolutely going to come out in the next patch.”
It’s never worked that way.
Dragonriding is going to take a while to implement in old world. Static flying was never said to be coming any time soon.

Static Flying and Dragonriding were datamined. It’s programmed in the game, they just refuse to release it for some reason. Maybe it’ll only work for the old world when they add Dragonriding in other continents. Soon™, of course.

Seen this same saying on forums since TBC and my heart has always said this cant be so but my mind and eyes have to agree with it every time almost .
Sure a lot of ppl like dragon flying but some of us dont for many reasons the option to let ppl swap would not hurt any thing.
check out the hate for the UI “upgrades” ppl dont like it A lot of times you get the feel the some of the Devs have the mind set of " We know better than you"

Got screwed by datamining. They stated the flying being added to the new mounts wasn’t coming in 10.1.5 and nothing was really said about static flying iirc.
