Just hopped on to check BDB specifics, and I can see where the spike comes from now and am glad I don’t play slot machine WW.
Apparently there’s a conduit that juices BDB damage by… well a lot. Max + boosted of that conduit basically makes a BDB hit worth a crit, and it has a 50% chance for it to hit. So… if a WW is running Keefer’s there’s roughly 25% chance they’ll do like two crits worth of damage with BDB and Keefer’s debuff rolling. Which is… ew.
Tested it out and I got an RSK hit for like 9.8k with Seren up and Keefer’s equipped. No crit, but if it did do a “double proc” with a crit and BDB, it’d hit for like 36k with the BDB conduit. This ain’t even factoring in that I can land a second RSK in another global.
I’m surprised Blizz made the reigns so loose on the BDB conduit considering how restrained the WoO (Kyrian) conduit is. The BDB conduit goes up by 4% every upgrade (64% at 226) while the WoO one goes up by .1% (2% at 226) every upgrade.
I find it funny that every warr switched to kyrian as soon as 9.1 hit cAusE eVeRY glAd aND R1 WAs dOInG iT but dey were all sleepin on necro.
kyrian was and is still really good though
warrior is just a busted class that can play any covenant without consequence

Just like all warriors initially went Kyrian at the start of the expansion and slept on Venthyr until later in the season.

The bigger point is: warrior can make any covenant work, maybe except night fae and even that’s prob fine to 1800+.
Look at other classes/specs that are stuck in one covenant: DH, Ele/enh, ret, etc. not saying those specs aren’t strong. Their class design + covenant ability has a pretty locked in combo that doesn’t feel clunky, or is even remotely viable. The covenant feels mandatory, like it’s needed to make the specs work.
Warrior doesn’t need any covenant. They’d be strong without one and their covenant abilities are so well designed for the class that it shows.

Venthyr is meh now. Since the execute buff. I think its only good in 2’s at the moment. But I agree covenant’s are very balanced for warriors at the moment and all can be played.

I think he’s just burned out from doing thousands of twos games and his threes team is pretty much at the top of the ladder, and all his competition is also on New World.
Hoping it’s a fad. I miss Primus Mud.

Truth, however to be fair that’s to be expected when covenant swapping is basically punished with yet another time sink. I get we could “try it out” while leveling but much of that doesn’t always tell the whole story with how it plays out with scaling, matchups, comps, etc.
Happens regardless but I think there would have been a lot of experimentation every patch if you could just swap freely. Once you have a commitment like that, most people will just roll with what they can see works.
