The shattered sun offensive may have been just thrown together to satisfy the players until wrath was ready to launch but it turned into the best experience blizz ever created and they have never been able to recreate.
Most of the time when new content is released it is focused around raiding. So the patch comes out and everyone is off doing there own thing. With the Isle, it brings the entire server together, in the same location. Doing the same things.
It is an ongoing event that the whole server is doing. I seriously feel sorry for the mega one-sided faction pvp servers though. This past week has been so awesome on grobulus. The chances of completing all of the daily quests without at least getting into a fight with the other side is small. That many players in that close of proximity, needing the same mobs to complete, will bring out the bad side.
Enjoy it while it lasts. You will never see the entire server all involved in the same content like this again, other than at then launch of a new expansion.
I actually view most of this phase as crap because all the gear is obsolete at this point. It would have been nice back in P1 when we actually would have used it. They should have called this Isle Of Too Little Too Late. They had an opportunity to just release the dungeon and reputation earlier in crusade’s life when it would have been far more useful… but they didn’t. The trinkets are the only thing I’ve seen anyone give a crap about and it’s only because BGs/badges don’t have better like with every other slot.
Agreed that it would have been better from the start. I dont know why they never learned and did this more in future expansions. I dont agree about the obsolete part though. And i dont understand ppl saying that about sunwell gear for rading either. Makes as much sense as someone complaining about kara gear because if other raids will have better gear. Your gear is for the moment. Enjoy it.
You’re not wrong. I hate doing the outland dailies on my alts mostly because I’m constantly getting sniped by people with epic flyers. Its so annoying trying to do a bombing mission when you have a druid trolling you in flight form and triggering the flak cannons then zipping away.
On the Isle we are all on our ground mounts and its more balanced.
