I play horde, the current design of the BG heavily favors alliance due to the hanger being the only way to win outside of premade vs pug coordination efforts. Horde has a literal uphill battle every game. Since yall don’t put much time into the pvp side of the game the simplest solution is to have all BGS function like the solo rated bg content where I can be on horde side or ally side off and on. Or delete that BG.
We get hangar all the time as Horde. You have to use consumables, crusader, or engineering items to get there first/at the same time. It is skewed to Ally though, I’ve said it many times in the past.
In the last ~2 months since I’ve returned to the game Horde has won IoC once, which was also the only time we won hangar.
Every other time the bulk of the team only arrives after the Alliance have made it to the flag, at which point the Horde are ice walled on the hill.
Really not a good time.
As I said above, Horde needs to think outside of the box to have a shot at hangar.
I feel Glaives should be buffed as well. They simply don’t seems viable or can be destroyed easily by one or few players.
Hangar+D has been the dominant meta in IoC for years due to the fact that the airship can’t be stopped.
IMO the best solution to fix this is to make it so the airship can be shot down by the tower cannons, with a respawn time similar to the siege.
alternatively,
make it so the tower cannons can shoot and destroy the airship cannons, requiring the players to repair them.
Agreed, Hanger is too powerful, And the design of the run up to hanger favors alliance. I believe the cannons on that ship really need to be nerfed. Or the glaives made more potent
Solo Q on IoC as Alliance or Horde and you will see your win/loss ratio change. I mean it will drop. It usually ends ups about 33%, give or take, on both sides from what I’ve seen on numerous toons.
Idk if solo Q Alliance wins more, though. I want to say, maybe. I’ll keep an eye on it as I am back down to just two toons atm and both are Alliance.
Well, maybe a Hordee comes back later today…who knows.
That or rebalance the damage towards the bomb carriers on the ground, so that airship is more of a vehicle to get inside the walls than a siege weapon.
It’s a shame. As unbalanced as IOC is, I still enjoy it. Only Epic BG maps I like more are retail AV and WotLK Wintergrasp.
Horde wins this but its the groups that have people refusing to use gliders at start and warlocks who refuse to place a gateway from the hill to flag that usually cause the loss at Hangar. That or people refusing to fight on the flag and just stay on the hill.
Whoever wins comes down to four factors:
1: Is your team neutralizing glaives and other vehicles?
2: Is your team defending their own vehicles?
3: Is your team pressuring the other team’s turrets?
4: Is your team inside the other team’s base and playing the two big objectives (running seaforium, pressuring turrets)?
Nine times out of ten I watch teams lose because they’re failing all four points and would rather duel the other team in front of their own gates and watch their glaives get jumped by two rogues.
I AGREE!!! Maybe even trade KEEPS! The ALLIANCE should start at the HORDE keep and let us AOE them on the hill for a change! As it stands now…most HORDE have rerolled alliance. The battlegrounds need to be made even or the era of rated epic BG’s will become a thing of the past
Who wants to tell him?
I remember fighting RUIN in IOC last ex pak. They take the 3 main nodes, and leave the quarry and refinery to horde.
That way it’s takes longer to farm you down to zero at the reserve graveyard.
Haven’t seen them at all this ex pak. Most of the Ally premades I’ve seen are auggy
Because behind the scenes all the leaders give one another a hard time if there’s farming going on and objectives not being played.
Yeah, they need a substantial health boost. Or let all healers heal them, as only a couple can. Which is game breaking.
Yeah! It was def an experience to be in those IOCs lol
I wasn’t super fan of the prolonged farming sessions, but at least I could take the extra time to explore the BG and watch the surrounding Nothrend map.
