Island Mounts not dropping

So ever since patch 8.1 has hit and even two weeks before i have been running islands non-stop to try and get pets and xmog to sell and mounts for my collection. I have easily ran 200+ at this point and i havent gotten a single mount while one of my friends has ran about 10 and got one of the new ones and then another friend of mine has ran maybe half the amount i have and also gotten one. I have done them at multiple different difficulties as well and still nothing. This is kinda bs at this point. I am putting in loads more work compared to my friends and it isnt paying off whatsoever. How is that fair blizz? And don’t say rng cuz thats just bs at this point. Put some bad luck protection into this cuz this isnt going to keep me playing for much longer if all this work isnt going to pay off. Absolute bs

How many Dubloons do you have? Also, how many pets have you gotten?

(It might ease the BS if you sold some pets)

I have been using islands non stop to lvl all my alts, another reason i have been doing so many, so i have doubloons but they are scattered across 20 toons, another thing i wish they were account wide so it wouldn’t be as bad for the doubloon vendor. I have gotten pets but nothing outrageously good, got one pet i sold for 50k but most of them i have just kept cuz they have been worth putting on the ah, same with xmog, and one pet for 50k out of 200+ islands still doesnt feel good or worth imo

RNG is not a kind mistress and it’s these instances that make it painfully obvious.

The strain of trying to find my island thunderscale has made me question life as I know it because I can’t even figure out the efficient way to farm it.

Remember the prowler fox from legion? So many people wanted to beat their head against a wall. Paragon mounts were bad too.

I would just think that with 10 different island mounts, not counting the 2 u can get from the vendor that I would have seen at least one drop by now out of 200+ islands, i understand rng and how it works but this is just getting stupid, i dont mind bashing my head to get a mount, ran ulduar 490 times before i got mim’s head to drop, at my height i was running it 16 times a week across all my alts, so i dont mind working for it, but with 10 mounts i really think one would have popped up by now, and when i see my friends put less than half the effort into doing what im doing and get rewarded better than me, its just really doesnt feel good whatsoever :sob::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

I have done over 800 and have never seen a mount drop.

I have though made over a million gold selling pets and transmog, so i’m not complaining too much. Mount drop rate must be 1% or less though which is ridiculous, should be similar to the Arathi/Darkshore rares which seem closer to 5% imo.

I forget what the strategy is to get mounts/pets/crap to drop, but it’s NOT just win the island Expedition.

Do you know the strategy, and are you doing it? (Probably not, is my guess)

That was changed in 8.1.

Before you had to actually kill certain mobs/rares for certain drops. Now you don’t have to kill them, it’s all RNG and the stuff that drops is based on what spawns on the island, not what you kill.

OP, come on, you have NOT done 200 since the 8 1 strategy change.

Why would that be easier? Instead of being able to target drops you now get completely random ones.

I only do the 5ish islands needed per week to get the Ap, but I have gotten 2 mounts from them, but I would rather get transmogs over mounts though.

Before patch 8.1 I ran 1,500 isles and gave up.

Seriously not worth the hassle in my opinion.

Probably a stupid thing to say, but aren’t most of the pets soul bound? Cuz idc about pets… I’d sell em all

The drop rate does seem to be incredibly low.

A guildie and I have been doing them nearly non-stop since 8.1 (not because we like them, we just want the stuff) and we have ton of duplicate pets and mogs but we still haven’t seen a mount.

I ran into another pair who were doing the same thing when I was doing one on an alt and I asked them if they had seen a mount and they haven’t either so the drop rate is apparently crazy low.

I believe as of 8.1 you can cage and sell them all.

You don’t have to kill specific mobs anymore to get certain drops from what I understand.

They are and they aren’t.

They’re SB upon drop, however, you can “cage” a pet for selling. (Check your pet tab, don’t think you can do it from inventory)
