Island Expedition loot tuning

So, I like the idea of solo Island Expeditions, so today I ran one normal, two heroics, and one mythic expedition, all solo. The tuning of mobs and time spent feels good, seems right at each level of difficulty.

But for four runs, which probably took 50-60 minutes, I got 42 dubloons. Nothing else, not even a piece of trash, much less a green.

Could be RNG, but even if I had the worst RNG, no loot in four runs felt completely broken.

That sounds off.

Sounds par for the course with this expansion

I ran all 3. Normal, Heroic and Mythic. I don’t remember the number of Dubloons I received but nothing was lootable except for the chests that had azerite in them.

I’m assuming that we collect Dubloons to buy from the vendor. If that’s the case, it’ll take a year or more to even get close to the amount of Dubloons needed for the pets and mounts and transmog. gear.

One hand gives, the other takes away.

Weird.
I ran some for around an hour before bed last night and got around 80 tokens, and multiple pieces of loot.

It’s all RNG.
There were times prior I’d run them and not walk out with any drops for the whole hour, and really bad dubloon gains. And this was with a group.

The tuning, at least from what me and my friends have been discussing, actually feels pretty much the same as the group ones. Just the runs are a bit slower in general because we’re alone. I can’t chain pull the whole island and have everybody nuke things down all at once.

If you can’t pull fast enough to make doing it solo “worthwhile”, the option to grab friends and do it as a group to speed it up - part of your problem is only getting 4 runs in an hour - is always there, and something my own circle is still planning to do.

I used to make a lot of gold off expeditions, so I may be paying a bit more attention to this stuff than I should.
