Is your guild "cliquey"?

My guild is pretty big. Is 10/12 mythic and run 22+ mythic keys etc.

Im in the heroic only group as i cant commit to mythic raid nights. Ive been in the guild since the end of uldir.

Does anyone else have this happen?

You ask for a key or offer up your own key in Gchat only to be ignored completely?

Notice thr same guildies are ALWAYS in keys together and spam them and dont help others?

Have favouritism toward eachother? (Dont need to meet gear requirements for raid when YOU do)

Only talk to you during raid night?

Treat mythic raiders like royalty compared to those who dont?

Have a go at you for complaining about any of the above?

I don’t know. I wasn’t in the clique and was booted from the guild without explanation. Just logged in one day and poof I was out.

that doesn’t sound like a guild it sounds more like work and not a game. what has blizzard done…

makes sense, that’s how humans work in any society

I’m not in any guild. But, every one I’ve joined before has done this to some degree. Makes sense that they would like people they know more than people they don’t. Still wish it didn’t sometimes feel impossible to get to know other guildies without feeling like you’re just barging into their own circle.

One of the reasons why I really liked Unitology on Moon Guard despite the bad rap it would get is because the leader Utopia would actually reach out to new guildies to get them involved. Pretty rare to see that.

Yep, people tend to form small social groups and when you spend a lot of time with that group you grow accustom to being around them and prefer their company. Edgy is correct, it is just like this in real life.

A lot of players seem to be stuck in the remnants of cesspool guilds from Cataclysm and MoP.

A cesspool guild is a guild that was created for no other reason than to fill the GMs pockets with gold by inviting hundreds of people and letting them play the game and fill the guild bank with gold from that old guild perk.

Blizzard of course removed that perk over time because of these guilds, but eventually these guilds fell into the hands of random members who have no idea what a cesspool guild, and they just kept inviting members.

Now you just have this multitude of “social” guilds with hundreds of members that don’t do anything, and some fall into clique mentality.

Guilds are for squares, man. I don’t need no M+ progression.

In my guild nobody says anything when I say hello.

Been years since the last time I was part of a chatty guild.

Just find a new guild that does keys or if you like the person game play in m+ ask them if u want to do more with them and i wouldn’t want to deal with that type of a guild when they pick their favorites to do end game stuff and leave others behind.

They’re probably in discord or on facebook live or myspace facetime or whatever.

Sounds like an unhealthy guild and just reminds me of why I avoid such associations. Thinking I might start one at some point but I hate the social politics.

I am the only member of this guild, so maybe you are right

I dunno about most but when I was in a bigger guild I was mostly just to tired too do a lot of extracurricular stuff like low keys and heroics, especially if certain folks are always asking.

I’d just join a guild that focuses more on your likes and activities, moving from a mega guild to a more like minded one is nice for everyone: Less chores and more fun.

Oh… no, it’s because you’re saying hello to an empty room.

Yeah it is. I mean there’s only one person in my guild, but I’m very exclusive. Only talk to myself, total favoritism. Except for this one time someone else responded. Very spooky, but I didn’t answer because that voice isn’t part of my circle. :zipper_mouth_face:

If people are active in Gchat, I’ll get to know them quickly and then offer to carry them through keys. Someone who has never shown up to a Heroic run, never spoke up in chat, I wouldn’t consider someone I like and ergo wouldn’t carry them.

We have some atrocious players in our guild, but I run keys with them because they’re funny and entertaining.

Yeah, for sure. Guilds I’ve been in have been different from each other but theres usually cliques. Most apparant examples are when guildies ask for help and no one answers but when that person part of the clique asks then the others in that clique pipe up. I.e. person not in clique ask for help with a key, no one replys. Person in clique asks and they always get help no matter what’s going on.

Pretty much.

I log in and say something, get nothing. A clique member logs in and get 6-7 hellos and an inv to a key.

Im pretty sure majority of my guild dont like me and just dont have the balls to kick me

Some people get along better with others, and I can’t get mad about that.

Also, some people find a team of players who they coordinate very well with, and they prefer to run that comp. That’s also fine.

It’s sad they ignore your gchat messages. In a guild that large, the “personal responsibility” of responding to guild chat is lifted because there are so many others that it’s assumed someone else will respond. Maybe you should find a guild with only one raid team.
