Short answer: No
Long answer: WW monk has many bugged abilities that make it harder to play but overall it is still a capable class.
Many of our abilities don’t scale well with secondary stats making versatility our priority stat due to the flat damage increase.
WW monk can put up competitive numbers in raid/M+ but it requires more skill and itemization than the other classes. If all players are highly skilled and itemized, then WW monk will still fall middle to bottom on the charts due to balancing.
Overall: WW Monk is a class with stat balancing issues that can be competitive if you are skilled and have the proper gear.

It’s my Ally main. I love the class/spec. It plays well even competitively. It’s fast too.

okay because that used to be my fav one to play out of everything you are able to make but i know alot of people are saying how horrible they are now so i got concerned
It really depends on what you are looking for when playing. If you want to top the DPS charts, it’s much much easier with other classes.
If you want a fun class with lots of utility, then WW monk isn’t a bad choice. You just have to accept that you will never be meta.
I suspect many people are regurgitating what they read in class discord and guides, and not really paying attention.
Pay attention.

That is relative. If everyone is skilled and itemized they will not be competitive. There are a few other specs that are in the same boat but the vast majority of specs do much better than WW.

are you baked? its still a viable class? dude have you even played? its the WORST DPS class for Mythics right now… im ilvl 120. and barly break 3k AOE DMG in mythics… Meanwhile Rets and Locks are doing 9k… ya they are super good… NOT

I was just clarifying that all things considered they are not really competitive. Then again, what is really competitive? Getting content done? Yeah, you can get content done. You just cant do it as well as some other classes.
Might want to ask some Monks and not general forums.
WW is not doing so great compared to other melee damage, especially in raids. In fact I think we are one of the lowest right now over all. It is a fun spec though and will remain my main if they fix the bugs or not
If this is the character that you were doing M+ on, this result is not surprising at all.
Your gear is poorly itemized with the wrong stat priorities, your azerite gear does not have optimal traits, and you aren’t using the best essences in your Heart of Azeroth.
Due to other shortfalls in the WW build, proper itemization is key to putting up good numbers as we have pointed out multiple times.
Right now, Monk is rated as a C Tier class which is about where we always sit.
But being C tier does not mean that you cannot be competitive.
first off. I was using 3 stacks of FOF and 3 stacks of Crane kick. I just swapped my items for Pvp… so dont assume what i am and am not using… 2ndly I stacked mastery and Crit… so again. please dont assume just because you armoryed me… thanks tho
Due to stat scaling though, monks are usually higher on the ranking at the beginning than what they are at the end of a patch. I would expect monks to fall in those rankings as ilvl for everyone else goes up.

Well I am glad to see things are changing, but my comment said “right now” not for Shadowlands. This info is also from beta which is really not a great way to judge where a class will place. But even if we are going off this, C tier is not great for a class that historically was VERY good in the past. Also what the poster above me said, scaling for Monks has always been like that at the start.
If by “right now” you mean BFA, Monks were still competitive below the mythic raid level. If we are only judging by top tier players, then you are right…monks were the bottom.

You have a level 87 heart and a level 11 Shroud and almost all of your essences are green.
It’s not an assumption that you are not properly itemized. It’s pretty obvious.
Second, vers/crit is the preferred stat stack for M+s.
is it ? just yesterday there was a post about someone getting kicked by a monk for 28k dmg one hit or something stupid like that
