Is WoWModelViewer dangerous to download?

As the title says  I’m trying to download the latest 9.0 version, but MacAfee thinks it has a virus/is dangerous. Is it okay to ignore it and download? I don’t really have any money to bring my pc in so it can get fixed.

Thanks, Ahmanet Sam’de

I suggest using Malwarebytes, instead of glorified Bloatware(MacAfee).

My pc came with it and I don’t know how to delete it. Tried Malwarebytes, it was pay per month :frowning: I don’t have a credit card

Why do you need a credit card, all you need is debit.

WoWModelViewer is fine, I’ve used it a lot in the past.

I used wowmodelviewer a lot years ago (like back in wrath days) but I havent used it recently.

I also suggest malwarebytes, you can basically use the free trial of it indefinitely.

Someone uses Macafee still? Holy cow. I thought by now everyone knew that piece of software had basically become malware in and of itself by now.

WoWModelViewer is fine.

Malwarebytes is free. I’ve had it for over a year and I haven’t paid for it. You don’t need the real-time protection that you get by paying for it as long as you use adblocker and scan daily.

MacAfee thinks everything is a virus lol

Here is the virustotal report for the installer:

I would assume it is safe, only two hits, with one being PUP (maybe due to ads, or possibly simply a false positive) and the other looks like a heuristic detection and not a match to any actual malware/virus.

That is why you are allowed to tune it. It does tend to over react but you can tell it that something is fun to run and it will never ask about it again. There is nothing wrong with it.

What’s the PUP thing? Is it just an ad thing like you said, or it is something that’s just part of the download?
