Is WoW worth 15$ a month?

I paid for content, but instead got four story quests that mean nothing to me. Sure, I guess they’re fun at first, but the lore has taken a nose dive into, “We wanted to be mortal grey but turns out that takes effort. Red bad blue gud.”

We got warfronts that are the single most boring piece of content right next to islands, you’d be better off parking yourself in the mine and taking a very map while everyone zergs it.

LFR drops that’re going to replace Heroic Uldir gear, why even raid? LFR RNG that’ll allow you to titanforge to Heroic ilvl and stats.

World quests galore. Doing the same thing over and over and over again and again.

Azerite gear that sucks. “Unfortunate result of the system” You make the systems, you can do whatever in this game.

Classes that also suck. Class fantasy? Never heard of it. Here, let’s take away one of your base line abilities and place it into a talent.

Everything being too RNG heavy; titanforging, warforging, etc.

Am I playing a slot machine or a video game?

Honestly? Probably not.

But I use tokens.

If you’re not having fun with the game, no, it isn’t.

Worth is defined per person. To me, I’m having fun, so it is. It really depends on who you talk to. I had more fun in Legion, yes, but the game is still worth it in my eyes.

That isn’t going to be the case for everyone.

I feel like you answered your own question, OP…

No, but unfortunately we are all conditioned not to mind being nickel and dimed by everyone and their mother these days.

Lots of games only require paying -once-, this game provides no exceptional value beyond the cost of expansions to warrant monthly payments

Why ask a question only you can answer?

Is your cable subscription worth X amount of dollars?

If not, you are free to not pay it and no longer be subscribed.

This is the exact same thing, coming under the same rules as an ongoing subscription service; You and that company both reserve the right to terminate your subscription at any time and not owe more money/service as only an ongoing month to month standard subscriber subscription.

Neither of you has an ongoing contract, which either of you can’t get out of.

The same is true of Netflix, etc. You can elect to no longer continue, at any time.

I paid a bit more than $15 for dinner tonight, during my “hour lunch” from work. So one hour, Vs. an entire month of playing as much as you’d like? And again, if you don’t you can quit at any time.

Wanted to know what makes other people continue to play, what drives them.

Fair enough… I still play because I enjoy several things about the game. The main one being my wife will play the game with me.

I’ve long since accepted the reality that MMOs require the monthly cost to maintain their own servers. Sure, fine, whatever. An hour’s worth of work from a paycheck per month isn’t going to starve me, but that’s only when I don’t just use tokens.

This, with any product, is only “worth” its cost when you compare it to the level of “fun” you’re having. Not having fun? Don’t play, don’t pay.

I’m still enjoying a lot of what’s on the table for BFA, and I’m looking forward to 8.1.5 and 8.2 content, so I’m still here, paying my dues.

Shoulda said so in the first place!

For me, it’s collecting, characterization, and roleplay. I run a roleplay guild, it’s the primary reason I’m still around. I also now run a community for a certain allied race want.

But I enjoy things like collecting and story building. Be that as it may, I’m not that impressed with the story right now at all and am hoping for a twist soon. I kind of just plot build anyway and create my own stories while I wait for something more engaging with the writing.

I don’t even really consider the monthly subscription price because it is so low to begin with. Rather It is mostly a question about whether it is worth my time. We only have so much free time in our short lives, best to spend it on something you want to do.

I was going to until my post got flagged for “trolling”.

I’ll say yes (and I also use tokens). $15 is less than what many people (with jobs) spend on a lunch.

C’mon people! Stop flagging posts you disagree with! That’s not what the flag is for! Geebus!

Yeah no idea, it’s rampant tonight. I don’t see how this is trolling.

Yeah, it’s kinda annoying. If I wanted to make a correction or update something, I would be unable to due to being flagged. Far as I’m aware, I can’t even attempt to unflag it.

Oh really? You can’t even edit it? Wow. x.x That I had no idea.

Totally predictable consequence of Blizz taking away the downvote. People making do with what they have available.

Another worthless post asking a question that u already know the answer of. Just trying to farm opinions to form an echo chamber.

I quit Legion because of legendaries (NOW THATS A SLOT MACHINE) after clearing Nighthold and now WoW is Legion without legendaries and its the best WoW experience i’ve ever had.

While some content is lacking like WQs and emissaries not feeling worth to do, The raid is fantastic and M+ actually has mechanics to spice up every week, and now season 2 starts next week.

Sure titanforging doesn’t feel great when everyone else is getting huge upgrades, but its awesome when it happens to you. It’s a system that lets you do content that has no worth to you to sometimes give you a decent piece for your trouble…better than Vanilla where if somehow you managed to get every piece of raid gear, theres literally nothing to do.

ALSO, raid tiers making every past raid tier irrelevant has been around forever so idk why thats a point. And warfronts are alright for a once every 3 week experience(could be better).
