Is WoW the only game where people born in the 80s and before are far better than others who are still kids?

It seems pretty unusual.

No, one game that comes to mind is War Thunder planes. I destroy people and so does most of my friends who were born in the 80s and before. Though I have been playing flying sims since SWOTL. Also the case in the alpha of UT. People don’t properly play UT they play it like CoD and fail miserably.

Not that they’re current games, but I would love to see your average kid today try to play 90s RPGs like Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, etc.

Reminds me of the
oh what was it, Tetris Battle Royale game where all the modern Fortnite players were getting their butts handed to them by the older generation.

Also I was born in ‘94 and I wouldn’t say I’m bad.

Thank you for reminding me to look into the new one coming out.
Ahhhghgggggggg HYYYYPE. Gonna be a while, but damn it looks good

is it though? People who were born in the 80’s or early 90’s (aka. Millennials) are now working, having kids and overall having less time to invest in WoW; a game that rewards grinding over skill at almost every occasion.

It is a lot of fun, even for the short little intro that is available to play right now, up to level 5. dying for more of it to release.

Any game that allows enough time on the GCD would let the old people be good (or better) than the younglings.

Like playing any kind of twitch reaction reliant game post 30 blows. Especially if you have anything busted on you.

Went from a low diamond/high plat player to a low gold after gaining carpal tunnel multiple times due to work and changes made to hasten game play. (Edit: In LoL)

Look at your character, now look at mine. With all my characters in heirlooms does that seem better?

Look at me, now look at you. Aren’t those end game purples on you?

This is my ale face
hic!

Gen X here.

I’m pretty sure I am better at most of my library then most kids but I don’t play or own Fortnite, COD, Minecraft or Poke man so I would get slaughtered at those, most likely (and hearing kids thinking if the swear in their high pitched voices enough we might mistake them for adults)

Gotta be honest these were real games. I have respect for RPG games where going into the character creation process in itself can make or break your experience.

Having your hand held through everything is the norm now.

its pretty much however much time you spend learning the game ontop of putting into playing to gear up. rest is neglagent due to MANY variables like team mates skills/gearing/doing their own part.

i was born in 92 so im 28 rn but yea i now just play casually. although i dont havea gf/kids i still got my job which takes up a ton of time. back when i was younger i could play anytime i wanted college well not so bad i could stay home cause a select few classes were online.

what helps imo is that if the game is actually good which is obviously subjective to the individual. the better the game is to the individual the more interested they will be. its like a relationship. why waste your time in a toxic relationship where nothing changes?

but i dont believe so i know 1 other mmo i used to play many years ago a popular one many of either played or heard of that is the same way. only issue with that game is it’s either pay to win or the free servers are a HUGE time sink and alts are a must for power creeping. leveling aint the issue it just takes time but gearing is which is kinda like vanilla gearing in the sense items drop less often so yea they are more of a huge gain in the end. plus stats are randomized and enchanting will break your gear too

A gen x who didn’t play pokemon? I mean that stuff came out in the mid 90s first. XD I played gen 1-4 while going between home and work/school. Being a city folk and able to use PT was nice for stuff like that when i was younger and didn’t have a need for an suv/minivan.

Otherwise I don’t know all the board sweep cheese and stuff anymore and would have to do research and whatnot

i was born in the 90s, and i think i’m ‘okay’ at the game.

I was already graduating from high school at the time that was becoming a thing, so I’m going to say most Gen Xers thought “Pokemon” was for kids, and probably too foreign/weaboo. For me, it was something my nephew was into, that I thought was completely stupid.

I wouldn’t even say that the older players are better. Many still play the game like they did back in Vanilla-Wrath, but it isn’t the same game. It is going to be very difficult to click abilities, keyboard turn, and click targets in modern WoW compared to back then.

That being said, there are many people born in the 80s that are very good at the game. Just looking at Mythic raiders, pros, and even the people I know with KSM and Gladiator, they tend to be on the younger side, with a few older people in there as well.

I am 84. I think it’s stupid too. My sister 87 thinks it’s the coolest thing ever. Lol

Um
there weren’t a lot of cell phones around in the 80s. Just sayin’.
