When you reach max level (now @lvl80) you can gear up you char in one week at item level 610+ just by spending some gold:
4 x crafted 619 ilvl gear pieces = 250k gold in EU
1 x boosted HC raid to get some tier set gear, weapon, trinkets if lucky = 300k gold in EU
Few boosted M+ runs to complete the gear = 300k gold in EU
So, with about 3 tokens (about 50 USD spent) you can fully gear up your new toon for PVE. Blizzard is actually allowing you to buy 4 tokens every week, so you can basically gear-up a toon every week.
This is basically the definition of P2W.
But … if you want to play WoW, you must also pay about 50 USD expansion price every year + about 180 USD for game time.
So WoW is right now a mix of P2W, subscription & game sale.
What else could BLizzard do to make more money ? Introduce a loot boxes system (yea, it’s in your name BL izzard - Boxes Loot).
We all love loot boxes !! Those are also creating a strong addiction so the game would be loved even more.
Every loot box should cost 1 USD / 10.000 gold with a high chance of obtaining silly tmogs & crafting mats, lower chance of getting some champion gear then lower for hero, even lower chance to get some mythic gear and the lowest chance for a mount/pet/toy.
What do you think guys ?! The joy and happiness of loot boxes in wow too.
You don’t need to do anything else in wow. No raids, no M+ no nothing. Just stay in your capital city opening boxes while spamming the chat automatically (also the Bnet messages all over the place) with the loot from the boxes. Ohhh wait … this sounds familiar … isn’t it already implemented in Hearthstone ? Damn … and I was thinking I had a cool innovative idea …
Anyway, don’t hesitate BLizzard. Take the next step and introduce loot boxes too. It will be fun to see the already addicted cry even more
