Not sure how I feel about this, with the new shop tendy images it is speculated more micro transactions are coming on top of sub fee. While I think F2P model will make a lot of people want to play again that don’t want to pay a sub, once that door is opened the damage is done and there is no turning back.
Unlikely. Very unlikely.
Now that I actually look at these they could simply be price tags on stuff that’s in the trading post. Anyways, if they monetize the post it’ll likely be a pass that allows people to complete more of the monthly activities.
Think paying $5 for the ability to earn another 1500 tendies for a total of 2500 instead of just 1000.
I’m living poverty so it’s not something I can engage in regardless. I pay my sub with gold it’s already rough right now with the token being so high. I play goblin too so I can be that greedy rich gobby fantasy that I’m not in RL.
Considering nothing is happening, I would suggest to have no feelings on what doesn’t exist.
I mean they must know it was going to be datamined. They probably introducing this system slowly one step at a time letting the community adjust to what’s going to happen.
It’s 16 icons they could use for anything from what we pick out of the chest (because there’s literally no text or icons when opening thst thing) to changing the interface at the Trader shop.
No MMORPG that I’ve seen has more than 6 bundles of currency for sale.
You’re jumping the gun way too early. Especially for free to play.
Its speculated that Blizzard will give away 2 million dollars to every person playing, too!
Unlikely. But very likely in the future.
i hope so. I want to play wow, but it costs way too much in my country
Though now that I think of it they did want to increase the sub free for Ukraine but then backed out on it… not sure what their play is here. The higher ups must be pushing something.
Excuse me but I heard it’s speculated that you only get the 2 million if you have an active 6 month sub
Honestly tiered sub might be fine with a better free option, might go in the route of SWTOR and cartel coins.
They have to keep an eye on how currency exchange changes and adjust from there.
Ukraine was part of that decision but was e tremendously bad PR, so they had to back down.
they just sold a bunch of copies of D4 at a very premium price of $90CAD.
They know their target demographic. This game will never be f2p in the real sense or the predatory sense.
First of all, they are currently trying to sell Activision Blizzard to Microsoft. So WoW might go on the battle pass. Second of all, there are so many players that currently pay every month for the game, and will likely continue doing so for years, so it wouldn’t make sense to stop charging them. Third of all, there’s not a huge difference between charging for additional trading post tenders and having an in-game shop. It would just be an actual in-game shop.
It’s already kinda halfway to F2p with the token, no reason for Blizzard to switch to F2P unless the population drop below viable levels.
Doesn’t automatically mean free to play. They can still have a sub fee and micro transactions!
Itd be a lot better f2p. Theres already far too many shop items for it to still be sub based. The game isnt even worth the money anymore, hasnt for a long time.
Wrong lol.
Btw you can buy every item in the shop whitout paying a single dollar.
You pay for stuff you think isnt worth… monthly? whitout being obligated to? what lol.
To the topic, no, there is no indicative that it will be f2p anytime soon and frankly the moment goes this route im out.
I get a bit more value because of the things i do with mates but yeah i think this xpac is pretty rubbish. Now that ive got aotc and will probably smash out all 20s over the next 2 weeks. Im gonna let my sub run out and save the money.
Btw, your gold may have bought you the items from the shop, but someone else bought the token. Think about that.
