Is wow classic dead/worth playing still

i feel like retail leveling is too easy but worried if i start playing classic the game will feel empty and boring and a waste of time.

Whitemane Classic Era is showing no signs of slowing down. People have been playing with no new content for years. I see no reason why it would die any time soon. Likely will be bustling for years to come.

and what about cataclysm?

You would need to ask in the cataclysm general discussion to get a better ‘feel’ of cata’s game health. A lot of us on era don’t play cata.

Cataclysm is retail in my book.

I’d say both are pretty bad state atm… If you are starting out now you’ll be questing until 60 and maybe come across one or two people along the road. Once you hit 60 you’ll have the usual suspects in orgrimmar and every person you think is a new player is the alt of these people because they have no life. So it’s a very small niche community with no world pvp or anything like that… Their manhood is so far up up their stomach so if they ever do go outside OG they always move in a bunch of 40s.

These people can’t really play the game outside of hacking on a boss with the 3 abilities the got and play for instant gratification and are some of the most greedy people you could come across too.

As for cats is more active. Sad part about that is that the arena screne is definitely not what it was in original wow… Reason for that is probably no rating cap on gear so people just cap and let it be.

Classic Era Whitemane is very active, with plenty of people raiding, ranking and leveling. Both factions.

still have ppl lvlin n doin stuff

Era is the only version of WoW worth playing.

Make a class you are serious about getting good at. Enjoy your leveling journey and have some nice world pvp doing it, professions will you rich and buy easy epic mount, and pump some prebis in 5 mans. Rank / Run GDKPs and perform well to get paid until you are naxx prebis, then go and get naxx bis.

Finally, enter WSG and play good, competitive pvp, anytime you want, forever. No need to farm new gear, login tomorrow or next year, your toon is pvp-ready and you are ready to game.

If you are bored after this 1-20 year journey, do it on a different class.

What a weird and completely wrong take. I’m leveling on both sides right now and there are plenty of people to group up with.

There are people hacking to kill bosses now?

You don’t play retail for leveling… lol.

If you like super slow boring faux hard leveling than yeah classic is it

If you want solid endgame that’s challenging then retail for sure.

It’s an incredible time to play vanilla / Era. Era servers aren’t going anywhere. There’s no rush anymore. Play at your own pace, find a community of likeminded folks to play with, and just enjoy the game for what it is, even if it takes you two years to hit 60

It’s the first time ever for vanilla wow that there isn’t an “end” which means no rush to beat content or catch up to current phases or whatever.

Your progress is never erased so your toon is literally forever. It really changes things for the better in my opinion, even if it means we’re “stuck” on fully progressed servers.

It’s not to say I’m opposed to fresh ones… I wish they did every-two-year fresh servers n repeat that dumped into Era forever serves at the end. Repeat till infinity!

But yes yes. It’s just an incredible time too play vanilla/era

That was a mentally ill take, projecting onto others.

I too, have been having a good time leveling in Era (Whitemane cluster Horde).
Finding groups has not been a problem.

Classic era servers are currently the best realms to put your time into, permanence in particular is a huge factor, you could take a two month break and it wouldn’t matter, everything would still be here the way you left it more or less, you’ll never have your progress reset by a new patch.

Classes are also the most unique and flavorful they’ve ever been here.

Log in and do whatever you want, the world is your oyster.

Is there an OCE PVE server worth rolling on? Because the only ones showing anything besides “low” to me are all PVP.

I checked my auction house on Remulos. It was a total of three pages. Everything on the AH combined added to three pages.

Remulos is the only Oceanic server with a population that raids. There are a few holdouts on Yojamba-arugal-felstriker (shout out to my old crew love you <3) but most oce players are on the american clusters now.

Hasn’t been my experience and I’ve leveled quite a few characters to 60 during Classic Era. Was playing with an IRL friend just a few nights ago on the Whitemane cluster leveling some Alliance characters and we actually had to wait for mobs to respawn in Redridge Mountains because there were so many players questing. Even saw some low level Horde twinks running through Redridge ganking people.

There’s a growing twink community on era now from what I gather.

Yep! The 19 and 49 brackets, I know the 19 bracket tries to play 4pm-midnight WMC time. They have a discord I’ve been trying to find but not finding
