Is wolfshead helm a must for feral druids?

Is sacrificing a head slot worth the energy and rage gain for shifting playstyle in pvp?

I like to shift from cat to bear and back and forth. Not so much power shifting just cat. Bear form particularily for stun. But with the wilfshead helm, id get just enough rage to have an instant mangle off, before switching straight back to cat. Foregoing maul altogether since that takes too long to cast.

How would ravage-> rake -> bearform -> mangle-> catform -> shred -> bearform -> bash-> catform -> shred -> and then powershift cat for rip or combo bite.

I feel like wolfshead helm is needed for any fast paced pvp for ferals. Any thoughts?

not for pvp

If I recall, it equates to approx 80 dps more than without. This is purely feral cat though.

Wolfshead is only ‘required’ if you’re trying to pump out as much PvE damage in cat form.

You won’t ever use it in PvP, nor if you’re tanking.

Thats discouraging to hear, because i feel like it has a lot of potential for pvp use more than pve.

I understand trying to pump dps in pve, but pvp is all situational and time sensitive. The potential of using certain spells instantly the moment you shift would make it worth it to me at least.

With the helm, you can use lacerate instantly as it costs 15 rage exactly and stacks 5 times.
Damage is equal to the extra damage maul gives, but is spread out as a bleed. Which is great to bypass armor and benefits from 30% extra dmg from mangle.

Furor + your first auto attack when you reach the target should get you the 5 rage you need for a charge + bash. That’s really the only “snap rage” that you need in a PvP environment, which is what the Furor talent can give you.

Getting a lacerate off a bit quicker with Wolfshead in PvP will probably never be worth the stats you give up from a helm.
