Is Unholy Legion HIdden Artifact Still Available in 8.1?

I’m curious if anyone has any information on if this is still obtainable?

it should be, afaik only the mage tower appearance is locked out.

the only thing im not sure of is if you need to summon 2000 ghouls with the spell apocalypse, or if you have to actually use the artifact weapon to summon 2000 ghouls.

I’ve been spamming the proving grounds for about an hour so I was getting discouraged. I decided to give ICC a look and sure enough the trap door was there and I had already spawned the special mob… xD Thanks for the advice

TBH the Bonreaper hook is the worst looking appearance imo which is why you never see any DK’ using it. I think you’ll quickly get tired of it but yea it’s still available.

It is. I had it on my Horde DK since Legion, but a few weeks ago I randomly got the book drop while gearing a fresh 120 Alliance DK

I can understand that because we don’t have a lot of purple options, but I think if we had purple in some of the other weapons you might like one of them more. It’s not a bad transmog, it’s actually fairly unique but there is a reason not many people use it. It’s just not as appealing to most people.

Agreed. I love the BRH appearance. I think it really suits the UH aesthetic.

Yes it is. It is an RnG drop from summoning minions with Apoc and Army. If you want to farm it, go to the proving grounds. After you summon your pets and the npc doesn’t come out, exit the proving grounds and go back in because your CDs will reset. You’ll have to have the artifact weapon equiped too.

its not RNG, you need to summon 2000 ghouls with apoc.

If isn’t I stand corrected but I thought the way it worked was after the 2k “ghouls” it was an RnG drop.

afaik there is no RNG aspect to it. there’s a hidden achievement for hitting 2k ghouls summoned, once that is completed you get the book spawned, if you missed the book you can still go to ICC and find the hatch, the only thing needed for the hatch to appear is getting the hidden achievement. iirc there is a script you can run to check if you can completed the hidden achievement.

as far as unlocking it now, it might take a while, im not sure if anyone ever figured out if army of the dead affect the count, but i used it anyway with the proving grounds method. this was back when apoc summoned 8 ghouls and it still took a while, i think i spent a couple days doing the proving grounds loop in acherus.

Confirmed, during Legion, that army does count toward total ghoul count

Are you using the macro that will point out when you have the ghoul spawned? If not it’s very easy to miss.

Hello i can confirm its available. I dont even have the artifact and the book dropped for me in a rbg one day… i did icc and killed the boss and looted the artifact. Happy grinding!

Got it last night. It is still obtainable. You can find it in ICC (25 man) in the Unholy district (With Rotface, etc) at the very top in a trap door.

I spammed the army of dead and apocalypse spell for like 2-3 days and never saw the book drop. Did an ICC run for the mount and saw the trap door was there. Book must have dropped and I missed it. I would check ICC every once and awhile.
