if so, wouldn’t that mean anyone can buy legit wow gold in anniversary with this…
1-player A (a classic anniv player) can buy wow token to get gold in retail or classic cata on level 1 char.
2-Player A search and find Player B who’s also (a classic anniv player) who’s ready to trade his classic anniv gold for retail or classic cata gold.
3-player A give player B the gold in classic cata and take gold on classic anniv.
which means player A (who is playing on anniv) just bought gold via token
meanwhile player B traded his classic anni gold for classic cata gold so he can buy in-game time.
if this process is permitted this mean we already have wow token in classic anniversary servers.
Im not fan of the token but the Blizzard’s problem is with third party gold. That doesn’t answer your question but I just thought I’d throw that out there.
Blizzard clearly doesn’t have a problem with third party gold. The same bots are active for months and people buy thousands of gold. You have streamers who literally buy it on camera, tell their viewers the site they’re buying it from, and nothing even happens to them.

Its against their rules and they do ban people from time to time. That’s not to say they’re great at enforcement or that they dispense justice equally but it’s still a violation “on paper”.
“From time to time” is close to “never”. Half the people in my guild post screenshots of how they bought gold and the other half just do it quietly. Out of ~60 people playing we’ve seen two bans. They were both for 14 days and neither of them had the gold removed when they were back. None of us have heard of any gold buying bans since then and this was in January.
The message here is clear just buy gold if you want, Blizzard doesn’t care. It’s way more time efficient for you to do it than actually trying to farm it yourself.
i recall blizzard stating that trading gold between game versions was against the EULA and a bannable offense.
i cant remember exactly where i saw that, or when, but i remember seeing it. maybe take it with a grain of salt.

i did not make this topic to ask about gold buying ><
i just wanted to know if trading gold between wow games is legal or not ?!
Okay, and?
None of that changes anything that I said. Technically, it’s against the rules to buy 3rd party gold.
Just because people break the rules and don’t suffer any real consequences doesn’t mean the rule doesn’t exist. I mean, I hear ya, there is no law without enforcement but its not literally totally and completely non existent as you’re suggesting.
Just buy the gold, you’re less likely to get scammed.
Trading gold between games is fine. Blizzard just doesn’t intervene if you get scammed. Do it at your own risk.
I’ve done it before. I even ticketed a GM back around 2020 to ask and that’s the answer I got.

It’s 100% legal but they won’t enforce anything if you get scammed.

Well…they do ban people who scam during gold trades. They will not help you get your gold back however.
Its allowed. it was allowed in the series now in cata.
Get scammed you are on your own. Use the more reputable discords. Most people care more about their discord rep than in game. Its a pita to rebuild new discord accounts, and get them trusted lol.
Wow…is 10 minutes to make a human/orc level 1 and walk to a town by a mailbox.
I cannot fathom how someone could trust another person enough to make this trade. If it was someone you know in real life, a good friend of yours that just happens to play a different version of the game sure. But what is basically a complete stranger? I would be asking for the gold you’re going to get in exchange before forking over a single copper of your own.
Discord and rep over time.
Here is what some do. They’d want…retail gold. to get a token to flip to blizzard bucks. they won’t be paying $80 for the new MOP
deluxe edition. they will be taking era (or cata) gold to find retail exchangers, get retail token, get blizzard bucks.
You’d find them in discord more readily than in game chat. I’ve not looked, but I am sure it not be much work.
Eve works off this setup as well. trusted service providers. They already worked out they make out really really really well from their services. and are strong chances of not throwing out their rep for a quick thrill scam.
you don’t trust that dude who is in trade hub system all time. that be a jita scam alt lol. You find that dude who’s been running client services for 10+ years.
Why scam even 10 billion game money to lose their status. their name alone generated way more in service fees than what they could steal to start off with.
Why are you part of a guild that has so many known cheaters in it? Why is your guild okay with so many known cheaters being in their guild?
Even if it is an open secret, which I don’t agree that it is more than half of players but that’s regardless, to be openly brazen about it and you and your guild not care is a big part of the problem imo.
its, perfectly legal but unsupported and limited to a small group of people who cross version play.
as long as bliz is getting their cut the policy isnt going to change.
I’m surprised you’re playing wow with that logic of yours.
wow is the game which filled with all type of cheats, impossible to be with any guild that have no cheaters who abuse whatever they can to get benefit over others by any means necessary.
almost all wow players gladly abuse bugs intentionally “such as the raid multi loot during 2019/the no locked hc in 2021 and the sod cheap chrono during 2024” and more.
while non of the guilds cares as long as the guild achieve it’s goals.
even in original times, top guilds did various type of cheating, and when it come to gold buying even method bought gold at some point and they said that in one interview.
right now in classic too many wow classic players are buying gold, there is a reason why the game have thousands of bots and why those 3rd party have sold millions of gold.
WoW should be named “world of CheatCraft” because it’s one of the best games that does cheating craft.
It’s pretty simple really, I don’t cheat and I don’t knowingly associate with those that do. I don’t intentionally play dumb about it either. If I am part of a guild and I find out that they tolerate people that knowingly exploit or cheat and continue to keep them around then I will leave the guild.
This is a game I play for fun and entertainment. I do enjoy improving week to week, however I am not willing to compromise my values in order to accomplish this nor play with those that do. If this means slower clear times or gear progression, I am fine with that.
