I’m doing a factory reset on my PC and taking this opportunity to future-proof my UI for Midnight and maybe swap a few addons after I re-install WoW.
Was curious if there were any alternatives to Titan Panel still being actively maintained. There was one that I really liked, but it wasn’t customizable, but I really liked how it looked and the info modules that it came with, and now I cannot for the life of me remember its name, or if it is still being maintained.
Thoughts?
Edit i found the other one I was thinking about, it’s called XIV_Databar Continued! it doesn’t use databroker though, sadly.

Is it still going to be updated with Midnight?
Unsure. More of a question for the developer.
Personally, I don’t see why not. You can add and delete modules, they’re all optional, so maybe the ones that are affected by the new stuff in Midnight will just go defunct.
But then again my knowledge of LUA and the blizzard API is limited. Sometimes I can figure out solutions to small things. But there are a lot of people extremely knowledgeable in this forum who could speculate better than me.
Best bet would to see if you can contact the developer on Curse and inquire.
Data Brokers, in and of themselves, should be fine. It’s primarily dependant on what they do with any “secret” returns from API calls (secrets are only active under certain conditons).
If they just say receive variables from API calls (or from table returns) and send them straight on to FontStrings/Tooltips (Blizzard base widgets) they should also for the most part be fine.
If they do anything with the returns that are secret (like try to total them, test their actual value etc. ) then that will cause an error. There are methods for working with secrets that may provide a way for some broker/plugins to operate on these values depending on what they need to do (or they could just not update all or parts while secrets are active) but that it will depend on the author making the changes (as noted above).
