Is this true when a World of Warcraft player tries FFXIV for the first time?

. Is this true?

Can’t say I felt like that

Final Fantasy 4 came out a long time ago, not sure that many people are playing it these days.

It is for some people, not for others.

Can I get a TL:DR

BfA convinced me to give it a try and it was definitely a breath of fresh air. Especially when it comes to the story, the quality is not even remotely comparable.
I also liked having modern customization options, unlike here, where you can only look forward to four new hair colors every few months. Things like dyeable armor, sliders, color palettes, player housing, 3D armor, being able to play instruments, way more emotes, better and longer cut scenes, no race division between factions, etc., are just fantastic.

Overall, I still prefer FF14.

Fairly, though, I must also say that:

  • I find the music in both games good.
  • I prefer mounts and pets in WoW.
  • I find the races in WoW (even though I find them mostly ugly) more creative.

Only bad thing I have to say about FF14 is its transmog system. What a mess.

Imo no. I have played it a good bit but I can’t say it’s as good as wow…not even close really.

Meanwhile, I prefer WoW’s storytelling over FF XIV’s nowadays, even if it isn’t the best. Too much “slice of life” for me in FF XIV at this point.

Idk how you can have glam that looks so good attatched to a system that’s so, so bad. Gotta use forbidden magic just to have a glam for every job.

14 has dropped off massively since endwalker.

i preferred shadowbringers over endwalker tbh

Shadowbringers was wonderful, in my opinion. It had it all. Good story, main and side quests. Amazing music. Fun content (Bozja for example, yeah I know it wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it was mine). And my favorite job, Gunbreaker that I had been waiting years for. I was a happy camper.

Thsts how everything is in that game imo.

I made a Taru Taru with a Carbuncle pet and then started fishing. Then I uninstalled.

Looks like a cool game but didn’t like the constant cutscenes at the beginning. And the spell casting was too slow. But Carbuncle is hella cute and so was my little Koala boy

Endwalker itself was pretty good. The problem this expansion had, I think, was that a lot was taken out. It feels like they swept several important story elements under the rug.
Well, and the post story has been criticized by many. I’m not a fan either. The new characters all seem somewhat clichéd. And the post story, in general, was more than predictable. Truly a pity.

Nah. I’ve tried three separate times to get into FF and it just doesn’t grab me.

For me, it felt like the quality and quantity dropped significantly in the post launch patches. Even the Alliance Raids, which started out pretty strong, ended up being rather bland. The nonexistence of a relic grind was also a shame. That was always good for keeping players busy for a while. I ended up unsubbing about half a year ago and let my house go, which I had for about 6 years. I did not do so lightly. Houses are nearly impossible to obtain…which is yet another problem.
