With China implementing new laws that limits children under 18 to less than 90 minutes of playing video games on weekdays and three hours on weekends, with no video game playing allowed between 10 p.m. to 8 a.m, does this mark the end of competitive teams like Pen and Paper?
Edit: Games with sexually explicit content, Gore, and gambling are banned as well for any age.
I think so.

i hope this is not a thing. If so the people need to burn the current administration to the ground.
It’s real. Historically speaking, standing up to the chinese government has not resulted in happy endings for the citizens involved.

What a nightmare of a country to live in.

Seeing my nephews rage at fortnite, I don’t think this is too bad of a thing.

This will sound awful but since now China is enforcing some limits on gametime (and profit to some extent), maybe Activision Blizzard will no longer focus so much on it and revert to listening to this side of the globe. It’s a good thing actually.
(Edit: it’s still terrible that people over there have to endure all this bs, don’t get me wrong)

Pretty sure a VPN can bypass any of those restrictions. Also how are they planning on tracking the age of a user logged into their console/PC? Retinal scanners? Seems like a logistical nightmare lol.
Prob more so heavy penalties to parents caught in violation. Fear based self-monitoring.

Every zombie movie I’ve ever seen the zombie “masses” always outweigh the men with guns. I suppose if 2 billion Chinese just took up arms, or just stopped working, they might have a chance to succeed just based on sheer numbers.
I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes though. It sounds miserable.

There is a reason zombie movies are fiction
Never mind… I read that entirely wrong. In my mind you wrote friction, not fiction.
But also in those movies the zombies also don’t use weapons. I’d imagine citizens (even repressed ones) can get access to guns / swords / knives / tools. Whatever they can get their hands on to sway the tide in their favor.
Also an effective tool is just to revolt and stop working entirely and the entire economy collapses (the world economy would also collapse), but do what needs to be done I guess.
I was eating when i typed it. Back off dood
“Minors could use the identification numbers of their parents, as many currently do to get around age restrictions.” Not sure how’d they actually enforce that then.
There’s restrictions to VPNs too. Like in Vietnam, my buddy can’t use it to access Netflix shows available only in America. I’m sure companies would have to implement something similar.

Access to weaponary becomes irrelevant when your oppressors have drones, nuclear weapons etc
Seems counter productive to nuke your own country. But what do I know

If they are trying to overrun your military like zombies though…
I almost wouldnt even be surprised seeing that headline coming from china
This is why an unrestricted 2nd amendment is needed. It deters tyranny. Im just grateful I live in the good ole USA,
