Someone said this is a low pop server connected to other low pop realms and that the auction house is terrible… curious if this is true?
Not at all actually, WRA is one of the two heavily populated RP realms along with MG. Can’t speak on if the auction house is “terrible” or not, but the server itself is relatively high pop. It might seem low pop at times outside of peak hours but that’s most likely a result of end of expansion blues.
Definitely low pop, can’t get soda anywhere.
The only thing I can say with certainty about our auction house is that the transmog market tends to be ridiculously inflated, because I will pay any amount of gold in order to play dress-up.
Yeah. WrA is currently just barely the most populated RP server over MG (171k vs 169k), and is 13th in population overall, according to raider.io’s realm population listing.
From what I’ve heard, the AH kinda sucks since the margin between crafting cost and the sale price of consumables is practically nonexistent (or worse, negative) at this point in the expansion, though transmog tends to fetch decent prices since WrA’s a RP server.
We actually are the highest pop RP server and we remain unconnected with other realms.
Well… In regards to the population thing, Yes and no. In regards to the auctionhouse, it depends on the day tbh.
The horde have a lot of active players, and their RP hubs range from medium activity, to high activity depending on the day. But the alliance seems to be lacking in concentrated areas a lot of the time. There are occasional days where the trade district is bustling but a lot of the typical RP hubs on the alliance seem to be lacking in activity. What’s worse than that is that since there’s a lack of activity, raids on Stormwind last until the raiders either get bored, or they crash the district. I made a tongue-in-cheek “alliance recruitment” thread on here, kinda hinting “We need more numbers”. People didn’t like that very much lol.
Auctionhouse is chaotic at the moment. Things you wouldn’t expect to go for a lot of gold do go for a lot of gold, and vice versa. It shifts from day to day with no consistency other than extremely rare and unique items which (of course) go for a large chunk of change. I’m not certain how it is on horde side though.
When it comes down to it, the population is high but the active population is in question while the auctionhouse is up in the air. I’d say give it a look for yourself, sate that curiosity!
