High and low level items have the same chance to corrupt, you aren’t losing out on anything by doing high level content, but you have everything to gain
welcome to the insanity patch. where its a success if the way it works is insanity. ;D
corruptions are fun to play with. the rng to getting the ones you want on the slots you want, not so much.
We don’t have to have one or the other. Neither is also an option. Whether or not it’s on the table is another matter, but there’s nothing forcing them to keep either in the game.
You know what’s also a success, is knowing which piece of gear a boss drops, and getting that piece and not being disappointed because it didn’t TF or proc the perfect corruption.
No thanks. I enjoy the added depth and meaning that corruption brings to the table. I hope that Blizzard uses this corruption system as the foundation from gearing from here on out.
risk vs. reward is a good thing.
Absolutely but only if doing the more challenging content has a higher chance to drop corrupted items and those items have a higher probability of being your BiS corruptions rather than the useless ones.
No, not really.
The beauty of TD is that item’s item level does not drastically impact its potency, a 430 TD3 will do 18% hp as damage per tick, just like a 475 TD3 does. So using a 430 TD3 with 1.03M health, that’s roughly 180k per tick without any damage buffs where-as a 475 TD3 with 1.06M health does roughly 181k per tick.
That’s not really that substantial if you’re pulling effectively and already making sure that you’re getting the key done within minutes rather than seconds of the timer.
Absolutely but the issue is that it goes beyond the notion of chance that the boss drops the item you seek, but its also whether it rolls the corruption that you need for it to be better than what you have.
All I am trying to illustrate is that if I am defeating a mythic raid boss, the 475 loot that I get should always be an upgrade over any 430/445/460 in that slot, no questions asked.
I believe you can have the best of both worlds.
Unless you’re the 1% of the players who are showered with luck, you have a higher chance that you’ll be farming content throughout a patch cycle just to obtain the best secondary stat optimization for your spec on the highest ilvl gear possible and that’s without corruption.
As a min/max player myself, I just think corruption has added yet another layer of chance to the gearing system that exacerbates an already frustrating chance-based system in the first place.
Yeah, that makes sense to me
And that is why i agreed with the post. I don’t think Ilvl should be the ONLY thing people look at and currently it IS the only thing people look at to “have fun” with a new piece of gear. I myself have a 410 ring on one of my toons with t3 infinite stars and i won’t lie i was shocked i got it like the first week of the patch, however the trick is does just letting go of having a higher ilvl stat stick for the bonus i want. I don’t think that is necessarily a bad thing as the game throws gear at you, so in the long run i will replace it but in the short and intermediate term i won’t get angry when i get a 445 or 450 with no corruption on it, it really isn’t that big of a deal.
Just don’t think of ilvl as the be all end all and enjoy what you have.
Just curious, do you really need twilight dev on your warlock? I used it on my hunter and it’s basically useless for a range dps. Unless you turn yourself into a melee of course.
I am just tired of gimmicks tbh
I found a solution albeit a crappy solution just do keys equal to or only slightly higher then your personal gear score. For example I’m only doing 12 keys max so regardless on if it’s corrupted or not if a piece of loot drops it should in theory be an upgrade unless rng gives me a dupe item. Course I’m a tank and getting into keys is easy for me mostly
What do you expect? It was corrupted with old god essence. Its very existence doesn’t make sense and breaks reality. This is actually brilliant
corruption gear is not alt friendly, nor casual friendly. corruption gear serves just one purpose. it allows elitists the ability to stroke their epeens.
Honestly, I prefer corruption over Titanforging. But no, I don’t want TF back. I’d rather corruption and titanforging both simply go away, and we return to static gearing. So please don’t say “we” like you’re speaking for me.
I love your honesty.
Oh and I agree with your point as well.
If you purify your 430 gloves your 460 gloves will turn into an upgrade
i actually liked TF tbh maybe its because i have massive amounts of free time, but the thought ever time i ran something i could get max loot appeled to me and ithappened often enough to make me keep doing it. corrupted ger doesint feel like an upgrade ever. the only solution i found is to only do keys where i know the lot will give me both a chance at corrupted gear and ilvl. easier for me since tank privledge but it must suck as a dps. healer is propbably 60/40
Ilvl should not be everything but look in the lfg tool. Must have 460Ilvl , must have 440 Ilvl to que for this or to que for that. Yea sure Ilvl is nothing, No one ever uses it…lol
Cromgaru vendor any drop with hated VERSATILITY.
Cromharu has spoken.
lfr is where those people are doing their “couple wipes”
i hate when people rage out in there when half the raid has never done it before
