EDIT: It is Official! The xp on/xp off separation is intended. Confirmed via tweet from wowdevs.
If the separation is actually intended I for one and very pleased but disappointed at the same time.
Twinks Unite! BfA has brought a lot of players together via communities to make the xp separation work. Get together here on the forums and work it out. Twink v Twink bgs, especially if coordinated, can be far greater than the slaughtering of levelers.
I twinked my 119s because I greatly enjoy the bracket and because twinking was a thing (not because I was fond of twinking). If you didn’t twink you got destroyed by a twink so your only option if you wanted to stay in the bracket and be viable was to twink.
I would’ve preferred that players not be separated but I guess it’s only fair. The separation does not prevent you from playing your twink, it merely limits the curb stomping of levelers by twinks.
Eventually the twink communities will get together and make things happen. The truth will finally come out too, the bg toughguys will unsub as their only enjoyment was nuking undergeared/new players and they had no intention of actually enjoying lower level battleground pvp against like situated players.
If the separation is here to stay, thank you Blizzard. If it was a mistake, there’s work to be done. There are better ways to resolve the leveling experience via battlegrounds. Separation isn’t really the best option but an improvement never the less.
Let’s see this HUGE twink playerbase get together and make it work, Or let’s enjoy the sunset for the age of BG twinks in BfA together.
It won’t happen man. I’m hoping it does, but it won’t happen. The community tanked hard when they did this before and it got to a point where doing BG’s became 1 or 2 a day, especially if we wanted to do AV. I hope this is not the end. I’m not really sure where i’ll go from here if they destroyed Twink battlegrounds.
I hear ya. I get where the guys coming from, there’s a lot of twinks out there right now and in fact with this many we SHOULD have a lot of people getting on board with this. Realistically though, the majority of the twinks who play don’t even know about the XPoff community. They don’t know about the other twinks out there and thus don’t know how to get in touch with anyone else. That’s sadly why I see this faltering hard.
It’s up to the twink community. I haven’t checked out xpoff, com to see how they are taking it but I am sure the twink community across the board is large enough to make it work.
Lower levels like 19 and 29, can pretty much do what they did in the first separation. Create an alt, transfer the chanted Heirlooms to that character and win until they level out. Rinse and repeat. The higher brackets how ever will have to rely on a large enough twink player base to enjoy themselves. Communication is key in this situation. It’s not the end of WoW, just going to have to come together as a community and make it work.
Until there is a blue post or hard proof from someone that xp on and xp off are in the same queues, it looks like separation is back. 19s were able to pop a 10v10 xp off bg last night. 20-29 had one too I think. I have not heard of any other bracket getting a game after yesterdays patch.
This monk was logged in on another PC while I played my Marks Hunter. In that time, I kept him online and sitting in Stormwind and queue’d. I logged him at 11pm EST, he logged out at 8am EST with zero queue pops.
Gonna need a twink spokesperson to advertise on general and trade chat to join a twink community if they are a twink. The community leaders should be all over this.
I mean if it’s done, it’s done. We had a good run, the community spoke and Blizzard listened. I’m not as mad at knowing they got Twinks moved out as I am that I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they will still continue to make the same stupid mistakes they made before. They WILL move on to something else, they will continue to crusade until they Blizzard gets tired of hearing it and does something like move us back to Legion templates. Granted, at this point, i’d take Legion templates.
Last night they pushed Twinks to their own bracket. All XP off characters get ridiculous queue times and in some extreme cases, can’t join BG’s at all.
End game instanced pvp didn’t make a whole lot of sense with legion templates as it removed the sense of progression that you got from PvE. But below level cap instanced pvp, with class imbalances and gaps in player experience the templates were perfect. OP classes/specs facerolled sure but it didn’t require anything extra to play one or bring what made them powerful to the table.
Blizzard could’ve brought back a legion like template system instead of the separation. The bigger problem in that case would’ve been the end game PvPers which without a doubt is much larger than the entirety of the twink population (most likely).
There needs to be something from Blizzard as a whole bunch of people are cancelling their subscriptions. Personally, we’re not outside of my 3 day rule yet where I will then begin to panic. But so far the facts that are coming out, it just leans in that direction.
The more I get to thinking about this, the more bitter I get. Selfishness caused this, and I can’t help but be bitter. Years of time, countless thousands of gold, my personal time, sweat, frustration. All that shot to hell because someone who doesn’t take PvP half as serious as me, wants the difficulty turned down to easy.
That sucks. I know the feeling of having the one aspect of a game that you enjoyed being ripped away from you. It SUCKS!
People enjoy battleground pvp for their own reasons. The separation fixes the imbalance that the power gap brought on by people willing to make their characters as over powered as possible then unleash all of that power on an unprepared casual leveler or worse a new player.
The separation doesn’t prevent twink players from playing the game, it simply presents the obstical of you the player making the aspect of the game you enjoy most, work. It’s there, they didn’t remove the ability to twink they just put a buffer between the levelers and non levelers.
If this is really going on I’m just confused as to why the silence on this change. There is an update so perhaps it was a mistake.
Still as extreme as this change is(if it is in fact permanent), it’s better than the original idea they had about activating the xp in random battlegrounds if it was disabled. That suggestion got a lot of pushback.
