I have a bad toothache after a root canal. Bad enough to consider jumping off a cliff in the thousand needles, yet here I am in the forums.
If you have to ask it probably isn’t.
Your dentist would be a better source whence to derive the absolute normality or abnormality of your situation, though.
Hrm I had 4 Wisdom teeth removed and it was fine the first two days when I came home, then super painful for which I was given drugs.
I would double check with your dentist though, way better than seeking advice here for something like that.
it’s probably cancer, sorry
(don’t look for medical advice on the internet)
I know I need to hit up my dentist, I was just poking fun at the fact that even though I’m in a decent amount of pain, I can’t help the allure of the forums. I appreciate your guys advice none the less.
it’s fine.
Hope you don’t have an infection! Git yer bum into the dentist tomorrow morning ASAP!
sends hugs
i have almost passed my exams to be a dentist and this is my professional opinion: hot sauce. chill it in the freezer to make it frost-hot sauce. then apply to the pain location. it will numb the tooth by expanding and contracting it at the same time.
So you want to go swimming?
Joking aside, it does sound like you’re in a decent amount of pain and perhaps just looking for some distraction. I hope you get to the dentist first thing to get it taken care of, and it all goes well. Best of luck!
{hugs} Been there… ewoowwouch
Ice helps a ton!
Also thinking about something else helps such as game and forums. Though looking at some of the forum threads… This might get depressing…
Hang in there, it will get better!

Go see another dentist. I don’t think it’s supposed to hurt after a root canal.
Baking soda does the same thing and will clean your teeth while you’re at it.
do you put it in the oven first?
No but it kills the pain, almost immediately. You have to rinse with really warm water, though.
Cold water will just shoot you through the roof as it brings the pain roaring back.
No, it’s not normal.
I’ve had several root canals and never had much pain afterwards.
Ring your dentist and ask her advice.
Yes. Clearly the suffering and anguish caused by subjecting yourself to the forums is enough to mask the residual pain from the nerves in your mouth.
Call your dentist ASAP.
Could be a tweaked facial nerve.
Facial/cranial nerves are fun. A direct line to the brain for maximum pain sensation.
Take some anti inflammatory meds. It should go away after a few days to a few weeks. It varies how clean your mouth is.
