Hi All:
Currently looking at the Dell S3220DGF - 32” 1440p 165 Hz monitor on sale at Best Buy.
bestbuy dot com /site/dell-32-led-curved-qhd-freesync-monitor-with-hdr/6375331.p?skuId=6375331
I currently play on a Dell 24” 1440p 60 Hz monitor. It’s a bit cramped with a full UI and not very immersive.
I’m worried that the larger monitor will not be as crisp because of the lower pixel density.
Any opinions? High refresh rate and more immersion seem great. Seems like a great price!
Up to you - if you don’t mind curved displays, it’s a good price.
I am fine with 24" at 1440p, but that’s me. That said, the increase in refresh + Freesync will be nice if you’re pairing it with a GPU that can use it.
The PPI on a 24" 1440p is 122.
The PPI on a 32" 1440p is 92.
The PPI on a 24" 1080p is also 92.
If you sit the same distance to the 24 as the 32, you may notice a downgrade (similar feel to 1080p) on your sharpness to that of 1080p - but there’s more to a display than just resolution and PPI - you’re also getting display panel type, refresh rate, brightness, etc.
I think you’ll find improvement despite the lower pixel density.
I personally would go with a 27" non curved over a 32" curved, but I don’t think this is bad.

I think 32" is fine, but that would be the size limit for myself when it comes to 1440p. I currently play on a asus pa278qv (only 75hz freesync but the color accuracy) 27" 1440p and love it.
Looks like a nice screen to me. I just ordered a 34" ultrawide from Bestbuy myself. It is the Gigabyte G34WQC, sells for $399.99. I have been trying to get one from Newegg for the past few weeks but I keep missing out. They sell out within a few hours. Now BestBuy is selling this monitor as well. B&Hphotovideo have it listed on their site for the same price as well. They show it as a New Item - Coming Soon.
Mine is due to arrive next week. Now I just need to replace my old video card and I will be all set. Built a new rig in January and held off on replacing the vcard since new ones were around the corner. The hunt continues…
I play on a 27" 1440p/144Hz monitor. Personally, I think 27" is the sweet spot for 1440.
