Is this game dead?

I haven’t really played since Mists of Pandaria. Is this game dead? Where do I even start? What’s the level cap now

Rumors of WoW’s death have been greatly exaggerated.

WoW: dying since 2004.

Wow shills will say it’s alive, but it’s dead…unless you have gold, because it’s also pay-to-win now

It’ll take the game to go the SWTOR route before it’s dead.

Maybe not COMPLETELY dead, but WoW definitely running on fumes atm, really seems like they out of ammo/out of ideas…

I guess you could say WoW is hooked up to a ventilator, it’s not in good shape.

It’s not dead, it’s just decrepit. It needs a lot of renovation because WoW was built off an old system and has been slowly built up into something it should have never been.

not dead but its extremly unpopuler

Not at the iceberg yet, but going toward that direction judging by its current trajectory…

Obviously not dead because there are still about a million players left (counting classic TBC and retail). But WoW is no longer number one. In fact, it is number 4 (but is about to move back to number 3 since New World has utterly failed).

If you have never played WoW before though, I would say this is definitely NOT the time to get into it. Blizzard as a company is a sheer train wreck and no one can say with honest certainty that they will even exist a year from now due to all of their legal problems (which NO other MMO company has ever experienced to date).

Very m uch alive!

I guess “dead” means something different to everyone

I’m a pretty literal person, dead to me means dead and not “the population is less than the arbitrary number I’ve decided it should be” and certainly not “my guild and friends still play”.

Then you know better than anyone that blizzard’s legal problems could literally shut them down at any moment over the next year.

I know I would not invest my time into a company that literally has one of the most populated and powerful states in the U.S. trying to prosecute them or destroy them in civil court.

Meanwhile, in their quarter 3 report:

World of Warcraft® reach and engagement continues to benefit from the combination of the Modern game and Classic under a single subscription. World of Warcraft is on track to deliver its strongest engagement and net bookings outside of a Modern expansion year in a decade.

P.S. I’m just as jaded as every other person on here, but Blizzard has the actual numbers/information and I highly doubt they’re lying to their investors.

And if you doubt a company that is under investigation by the very state in which it is incorporated would not “lie to their investors” might I sell you a bridge that I happen to “own” in said state?

I’m more a fact based person than an opinion based one. Until I see otherwise, I’m going with what I see reported from the source.

I don’t know that as I don’t follow Blizz’s current legal status because I honestly don’t care lol. But until they are shutdown they aren’t shutdown.

This game is undead.

Because “facts” have never in U.S. financial history been distorted or down right forged, am I right?
