Is this bannable?

There’s a file for classic wow that changes wow model character to updated one. Bannable?

Probably, they don’t take kindly to messing with models.

Depends. Are the model updates visible by other players? If not… no one will really onow

there used to me skin mods that would only change appearance of your character for you, only you could see it but blizz would still ban your account if they found out.

Anything that alters models client side is definitely bannable. Whether or not they will is another question, but certainly could be.

They used to ban people for tmorph back in the day.

Don’t mess with the game files.

This will trigger their anti cheat and you will be banned for it like they did in the past.

Yes. Very yes.
Any program that changes models is bannable.

Anything that alters game files-- Can land you with a ban. It’s better to be safer than sorry.

Why would you even go out of your way for newer models anyway? I think the maxed settings looks amazing imo

Exactly, and just because they have not banned any account yet is not a sign that it OK. They ban in waves.

Oh my this is a dream. I hope it’s legal. I want new models in classic soooo bad.

Not necessarily true. Editing the MPQ files (I think they use a new format now) and such was bannable, simply swapping files/sound/etc. via a new directory never was. Blizzard eventually broke this with graphics, but they allowed the sound mods to continue. I remember since I was allowed to post a mod right on the general forums that changed KT’s voice to his old one when people were appalled at the Wrath version, and Blizzard didn’t care. I also made ones with imported sound effects for abilities and similar things.

I have not done much with modding for years now, and I am pretty sure they have all new file formats, so I am sure the rules have changed since then.

The world looks fine to me, but some of the old models look really bad imo. Your race/gender for example. The faces are the stuff of nightmares dude.

That’s what I’m going for it’s perfection. Better than the fortnite looking modules :face_vomiting:

Not if you are using the China models. Like the undead with no bones. I wouldn’t trust doing anything third party though.

Depends, if its an addon which only you can see and no one else or shares information with other addons, then probably not.

If it changes files directly or alters the code and others can see it then yes you likely will get banned.
