I’m looking to trade gold retail vs classic.
On thrall I have gold in retail that I would like to trade someone for gold on Mankrik classic. Is this ToS - a lot of topics with varying answers.
No, its not against it. Its also not supported. If you get scammed, your own problem, Blizz won’t help.

You might want to post this again in Customer Service. I wouldn’t trust a player’s interpretation on the ToS.
I’ve done this previously and i also opened a ticket and asked whether it was okay to do. As orhers have said, it’s not against the rules. But not supported.
The reason i asked a GM, is because i was worried i was being traded bought gold, and was worried if the other person got banned, that i might also be banned.
I was told that basically why risk it? If you know 100% that the gold you are given was not bought, then go right ahead. If you are worried about anything then i would suggest not doing it.
I asked a GM also because i wanted my own question answered legit from blizzard and not just someone on the forum.
I traded retail for classic gold on two occasions. Won’t do it again because i would rather just not do anything that might come back to bite me - even if it is being caught in the crossfire from someone else buying gold.
Although admittedly, there’s that much bought gold in circulation at the moment with gdkp runs so that probably wouldn’t happen.
Ultimately, it is a risk. If say for example you get 10k gold on classic, and then trade x amount on retail; without anything in return, it could be flagged.
I doubt Blizz does anything like that, but still risky in my book.
This is a good point. Even though dot is technically correct, I believe the bans are automated and trading large amounts of gold between accounts is something they flag and gold selling or bottling. If you get flagged it may be difficult to get the ban overturned.
When i did it, we were trading little bits at a time.
But that’s also why whenever i trade gold between my own accounts, i’ll still do it in smaller amounts. Even though they are both my accounts under the same bnet, i still dont want to run the risk of it being flagged under whatever automated algorithm they use.
