5 toons, all the same level, always in the same place at the same time (either in or near a dungeon), log in/out at exactly the same time…seems fishy. One person can’t play all roles in a dungeon at the same time, even if they have 5 active accounts. Just wondered if this was a problem that should be brought to the Admin attention, or not.
Apparently it’s allowed. It’s called multiboxing. People buy 5 accounts and use 3rd party software and macros to control all 5 at the same time.
I think it wasn’t allowed in vanilla but because $$$ it’s allowed now.
You are wrong btw. I’ve done it. Its sloppier than a fat man’s bib, but yes you can.
If you see something, say something.
For your first post, this issue must seem imminent to you. #changesfast?
Was always allowed. Policy has never changed. If you believe they’re botting, report them.
Yeah, or this.
We keep reporting we can get our own Homeland Security.
Fixed that for you.
This isn’t my first post.
It was around in vanilla too. People used to box shamans pretty commonly. Druids and mages too.
It’s more common today than back then since now pretty much everyone’s computer can handle it, and there are a lot of free tools to make it easier.
Hahaha Fat man’s bib…
Okay yeah I remember it in vanilla. Just had this weird impression that it was an offence, but I suppose it was allowed, which is why I saw them around.
Yeah, as long as people weren’t literally botting, or account selling, Blizzard didn’t care.
One of the problems back then, and now, were the number of multiboxes being done that way just to sell the chars.
Yes, yes they can. They could be doing this using key duplication software - which means they hit “1” on their keyboard, and all five characters perform the action bound to “1”. Picking the right combination of abilities takes some planning, but that can actually be part of the fun of multi-boxing.
Plus, prior to a certain point, many dungeons can be done without absolutely requiring the trifecta of tank, healer, damage dealer. If you’ve got five warlocks and five blueberries, just about everything dies before it becomes a problem.
It was always allowed unfortunately, it just required a computer that could do some serious heavy lifting back in 2004-6, now a potato can do it so you see it more these days.
Also, you don’t have to buy the game for each account in Classic. Instead of 40 bucks each plus 15 bucks a month… its just 15 bucks a month.
I have a multi boxer in my guild. He plays 5 paladins at the same time, mainly just grinding humanoids for cloth drops, but he’s not a bot. Only talks on one toon but when he needs chants I’m surrounded by dwarves.
Correct, it’s your second.
If you transfer you lose your ‘posts’ well if you rename yourself that is. I have made thousands of posts.
