so in westfall there are a lot of homeless individuals squatting around the various farmsteads in the zone. in recent years, stormwind has opened itself up to both night elf and worgen refugees after the burning of teldrassil. how can this be when they are unable to provide housing and support to their own citizens?
Eredar! Cursed demons! We will fight you as we have in the past!
The Night Elves are still squatting in some poor guy’s backyard. The Worgen seem to be meandering the city and the homeless in Westfall as per the human questline for their heritage armor remain well homeless. Being exploited by some corrupt noble. Now they have “Hope.”
This is why I sincerely think we’re in desperate need of another old world revamp. I remember Shaw being very complimentary of Anduin’s rule, and somehow that is the main source for how a major faction is being ruled for the past however many years. Heritage questlines just aren’t enough.
Well, the Breadbasket’s Guild and House of the People in Stormwind should deal with this.
Mostly… yes. The Kaldorei housing issue is about to be resolved with the new world tree island, but otherwise there are a lot of refugees in stormwind. Just a refresh of the Eastern Kingdoms would do wonders. They could catch Loraeron City, Reclaim Gilneas, and progress the reclamation of Gnomeregan in one fell swoop.
Nah, people of Westfall are fine so long they eat Dirt Pies. We have more pressing issues in Stormwind - A stature in honor of Anduin.
Considering the night elves are just living outside on a farm or sitting in the streets it seems SW does still very much have a homelessness problem.
Westfall is resolved. As of Cata, you see an active building project constructing a new walled settlement at Sentinel Hill. It’s visually unfinished at present because the dev team refuses to update the Old World. But notionally, Westfall is back on its feet.
The night elf heritage quest starts by responding to a summons from two night elves still living in Stormwind, so it at least implies that the night elves are still living there in lore.
I’d have hoped most of them would have moved back to Darkshore/Ashenvale (since a lot of them are likely from those zones rather than Teldrassil) now that the war is over, but that would require work to show.
I am sort of curious if they plan to move that quest to begin in the new island once it is a thing… As it won’t make any sense they begin or end in Stormwind once that happens.
My cynical senses tell me they won’t.
But, I am always open to being happily surprised. I do want to compliment Blizzard when they do something that I enjoy.
It’s a silly notion to me that the Night Elves would rather suffer the indignity of sleeping on the streets of Stormwind like beggars than to retreat to Val’sharah or Hyjal where they have established communities.
I guess the Alliance has to be made to look like they care about the Night Elves’ plight somehow.
whats really weird is they were said to of retreated to Hyjal… its even in a book.
Part of it might be an aversion to the “dead houses” that Humans build. Night Elves are used to living in homes that are literally alive.
