Is there something wrong with this macro?

Subject of post…

#showtooltip Raise Ally
/cast [@mouseover,help,dead] Raise Ally; Raise Ally

For whatever reason, it doesn’t work the way I expected it to. I still have to actually click on whoever’s frame, get them as my target, and then hit raise ally.

I want to use it bound to one of my MMO mouse buttons, but it’s just not doing what I want.

some unitframes eat mouse clicks. does it work when bound to a key?

Ya, I’m not sure what it is with raise ally macros but whenever I first write them I often get the same problem. I would try this, even though logically it should work the same:

#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover, dead][dead, help] Raise Ally;

I combined my raise ally with Death Coil, as they both cost runic power, I like to think of myself throwing Death Coils into corpses to raise them. I know this macro works so hopefully it can help you problem solve the current macro issue if nothing else.

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:alt, @player] death coil; [@mouseover, dead][dead, help] Raise Ally; [@mouseover, exists][] death coil;

Technically, it is bound to Cntrl + 8 and the mouse key is bound to the same key combination.

It’s a Logitech g60 and I have the side buttons bound to cntrl+1-=

Not sure if that makes a difference, and I haven’t tried actually hiting ctrl+8
