Is there more to DataforAzeroth score?

A guildy and I are having a friendly competition for pet score.

After a long, LONG grind (3+ years) I finally have more pets than her! I have 1841, she has 1839.

And since each of my unique pets are lv25, I assumed this would translate into me also having a higher overall pet score on DataforAzeroth.

And yet… I don’t.

I have 183,236.
She has 183,900.

According to the site, each lv25 pet would equal 100 pts. So I would need SEVEN more pets to beat her. And at this level, getting even one more pet is a real challenge.

I don’t understand how I don’t have a higher score. Is there something I’m not understanding? There are certain pets that CAN’T get blue-quality-rare, and/or cannot be lv25. But that would be true for her, too.

I’ve hit the “update” button. It’s showing my current pet total, is there something about the score that takes longer to update?

I don’t understand what’s going on here. :confused:

Level 25 RARE pets count for 100 points. Not all of your level 25 pets are rare.

From pet score page of DataforAzeroth site:

Ranks players based on the level and rarity of their unique pets. Each pet has their level multiplied by 4 for rare, 3 for uncommon, 2 for common, and 1 for poor. Therefore a level 25 rare pet will be given 100 points.

Wonder if it’s a difference in pets that can’t battle. They have no level and some show as Uncommon, some as Rare.

Warcraftpets . com compensates by treating those as maxxed in calculating a pet score, DataforAzeroth may not.

Would be interesting for you and your friend to get onto Warcraftpet and see what scores you end up with there.

EDIT: Does seem to be a difference in how the scores are calculated. For example, I have 8 fewer pets than you do, but my DataforAzeroth score is 125 points higher. The ones that can battle are all Rare and maxxed and I have a bunch of non-battle pets.

All of the ones that CAN be Rare… are.

There are a handful of pets that you cannot apply a Stone to/ get as a Rare.

This is also true for some lv1/no-level pets. They cannot be leveled.

I addressed this in my OP. And while it’s true that means I have some pets that aren’t leveled and aren’t Rare quality … she can’t do anything with those pets, either.

Doesn’t make sense.

edit: While I was trying to figure this out last night, I was also looking through SimpleArmory and started going through my pet list in-game ONE BY ONE. And sure enough, there were 3-4 that weren’t fully leveled/Rare.

I fixed all that last night. But SimpleArmory doesn’t have an “update” button like DataforAzeroth does. I don’t know how long it takes to update, but as of last night it was showing some pets (3-4) that weren’t 25 and/or weren’t Rare. afaik, I fixed all of those last night. Unfortunately, I don’t think there’s any way to check that in DfA, and I don’t know how to FORCE an update in SA.

Yeah, I was just comparing your non-rare pets to mine that are rare. I was not talking about non-battling pets – just normal ones that can be leveled and stoned.

Your Armory page is still showing pets that aren’t rare quality or leveled to 25.

Have you looked at your Armory page and compared it to the in-game Journal? It could be an issue with the Armory lagging behind and not properly updating that is causing the issues with the websites.

But going through the list:

Argent Squire: cannot be leveled/Rare

Festival Lantern: Shows as green quality, but I have 3 of these, and 2 of them are Rare. To be safe, since they only come in BB breed, I’m keeping one of the Rare-quality and caged/removed the other two.

Grumpling: same thing. It shows a green-quality, but I have 3 of them, and one is Rare. Doing the same “cage the others” process.

Red-Tailed Chipmunk: Same as above.

Trapped Stonefiend: Same as above.

Winter’s Little Helper: Same as above.

Coilfang Stalker: effectively the same. I have two of them, one is lv25 rare, the other is lv24 rare … and for whatever reason, the Armory shows the lv24 one. Caging it.

Comet: Same as above.

Devourer Lobstrok: Same as above.

Multichicken: Same as above.

Bunbo: Same as above.

Gilded Mechafrog: Same as above.

Inky: Same as above.

Leatherwing Screecher: Same as above.

…this was page 29 and … it’s now just showing all duplicates, lower-levels, etc.

tl;dr: All my pets that CAN be lv25 AND Rare … are.

If one stands out to you, let me know and I can check it. But… I went through the entire list on Simple Armor last night. Went through it 5-6 different ways sorting them with Rematch. And now just went through every page on the official Armory …

They’re all 25, they’re all Rare. But somehow, I’m 700+ points LOWER than someone I have two more pets than. That doesn’t make sense.

EDIT: AYA!!!

It could have been that it just took some time/overnight to update, but I just did an update after doing the cleanup posted here, and now on DataforAzeroth, it shows me with 184,200 and my friend with 183,900!!!

In the name of science, I should have done that update BEFORE I caged some of these pets but … either way… seems I fixed it!

Glad you sorted it out and got it to update!

I was just manually comparing pets between our Armories.

One thing I did notice is that the Armory wasn’t doing a very good job of showing duplicate pets and seemed to stick to showing lowest quality/level of duplicates. Now that you cleaned up the duplicates, everything should be set to keep your score properly updated.
