I kinda fell off for a bit when SoM first dropped so I’m just waiting for a new season, but it seems to have been dead for a while, just wondering if it will make a return or if Blizzard is just going to follow through with making SoM Classic stretch to TBC

Som died in p1 so I doubt they’ll devote the resources to doing another one even though it was blizzard who dropped the ball on it.

I hope they do the non seasonal classic (not sure I trust blizzard doing a classic + after som) but not until after wrath has run its course. Need to build the hype back up so there’s a decent population for it!

I agree. Classic+, Dragonflight, and Wotlk running at the same time would be very overwhelming

of course there will be a SoM2, but not until after November/December.
there will definitely be no SoM TBC. SoM is vanilla only.

Yes, as soon as Wrath launches at this point. Enjoy your Wrath Reforged SoM.
Not really excited to see another SOM, but would be very interested for a Classic+, where they tweak some of the broken specializations to make them viable (e.g., paladin tank, dps).
It was a failure.
I think they will start fresh vanilla servers again though sometime after cata classic phase 2.
SoM was a big disappointment. I was hoping for a new classic Era home.
Instead, everyone rushed and disappeared. I had to rush to beat a gimmicky deadline and eventually given so much XP boost (200 % rested) it felt like retail and then everyone was gone.
Classic WoW was never designed to be played on a deadline and have an end. WoW needs a long lasting community to be fun.
I’m not sure the WoW Classic community can handle more fragmentation than it already has. But to each their own I guess.
Personally, I will not play SoM again. It’s just too artificial and temporary for my taste.
I will be staying on my active Era cluster (Mankrick/Pagle/etc) where my character, guild and friends still remain.
I wish I had stayed in Era where I would have a few permanent lvl 60 alts by now, raiding Naxx and hanging out with my guild.

I feel the same. WoW classic should be savored, not rushed. It should be permanent too. Era is the only version of WoW where you can stop playing for 2 years, come back and pick up where you left. I wish they’d bring back the clone service to Era.

I enjoyed SoM immensely. But I quit after Rag and Ony because I wanted to do TBC before Wrath came out and I didn’t have alot of time. I would be ok with another SoM or some other suggestions on here, but just not until wrath is done, which I will be quiting in a couple weeks probably.
So long story short, me and my buddies mainly started in wrath, we had been waiting for wrath this entire time since vanilla classic had launched, we have played thru BC classic and now Wrath and we have to say, after playing them all we all think Vanilla is THE ABSOLUTE KING of world of warcraft, it is by far the most breathtaking real life breathing version of wow and we just started a duo and a solo HC character group last night on ally bloodsail bucc. We all want a fresh SoM, badly. Changes or not were all ready to go back again. We would all play a fresh SoM everytime a new one came out.
