Is there evil in Warcraft?

Not 100% sure on these so let me know if I’m wrong

Ashvane was corrupted by N’Zoth iirc?

Vancleef was probably the most compelling character on this list, but he’s also very dead and we don’t see that kind of nuance and actual gray morality anymore.

Sylvanas was controlled by the Jailer.

I don’t know crap about Deva.

Arthas was corrupted/dominated, Illidan was corrupted, Kael was crazy(?)

Axis of aweful the greatest threat to azeroth we completely ignored.

Here’s the source of all evil in the Warcraft universe. Innkeeper Allison.

I’m telling you, she’s secretly been a Sith Lord all along.

Ashvane was in it for the power all along. Almost all of the Tiragaarde Sound quest-line was uncovering her secret build-up and use of Azerite in order to take control of Kul Tiras and move on from there.

She only turned to Azsharra/N’zoth after she was outted and her plans for Kul Tiran domination were thwarted.

As to Vancleef… they’re probably more referencing Vancleef’s daughter, Vanessa Vancleef. Who watch adventurers behead her Father, and so she used the economic down-turn from the post-Northrend Campaign to incite rebellion in Westfall in order to get revenge on Stormwind for killing her bandit Father.

Illidan was never corrupted, but he’s always been a mix of I am right and will do things my way + Power hungry narcissist.

He sided with fel powers intentionally to get stronger/more powerful just so that he could use that power to destroy them in his own fashion. Not so much a world domination type as a “hah look at my I’m the strongest, why isn’t Tyrande fawning over me?!” type.

Aside from the Dreadlords, I can’t think of anyone.

No, he was insanely prideful, but didn’t go murder happy until the Old God heart.

Ah, you may be right…

I mean all the Vancleefs are some of my favorite characters, so I can definitely accept that the whole family is pretty gray.

Yeah, fel powers that corrupted him, right? Or is he ultimately responsible for every act of jerkitude he perpetrated? If he did a Bad Thing in WC3 and then everything afterwards was handwaved as “ebil demon powers made him big meany” then I’m not counting it, but I didn’t really pay much attention through Legion, so it’s a real question.

Don’t forget Firelord Nami Leader of the Burnt Legion

Damn. That’s true evil!
That mix is just wrong!

Well, we are murder hobos.

Chaos, beckons.

Real evil is the kind of person who goes out of their way and kills critters

yes, and her name is Sylvanas. She’s like this plot armor cancer carrier that is self immune and air borne. She can go around and infect entire universes with her whiny drama about sisterhood, her time spent picking flowers as ranger general, cougar trouble with Anduin, her not so secret desire for Tyrande, or her questionable motives with Nathanos boytoy…

She’s like a wrecking ball, she just showed up and closed our eyes and had us all swinging at each each in BFA and then after Zovy accidently used her trigger word “serve” decided to have an epiphany and left us hanging off a cliff ready to fall in a blazing pit of fire. And we, the players are to blame. Did I summarize this well?

For me, it was a Tuesday.

Nope, not corrupted.

He states that most emphatically in the cinematic where he’s brought before Xe’ra and turns her into crystal power.

Illidan has always been a jerk, and does jerk things. But he does jerk things for the, relative, good of the Night Elf people and to try and impress Tyrande. Individual Night Elves in close proximity to his deeds may or may not survive.

Sargeras is, quite literally, the biggest baddest baddie in the universe and when he showed Illidan the scope and power and purpose of the Burning Legion Illidan took that as a “Challenge accepted.” moment and has spent 10,000 years trying to kick Sargeras in the fork to prove he’s bigger, badder, and more powerful. And rescuing the Night Elves and Azeroth is a nice bonus, but more importantly… is Tyrande watching?

“Evil is a point of view. God kills indiscriminately and so shall we. For no creatures under God are as we are, none so like him as ourselves.” -A good quote from an emo vampire movie/novel

She wasn’t. At least not at first and only made the deal with Azshara after her take over Kul Tiras plan failed.

As far as we know she was serving of her own volition. Hence how she reacted at the end of the raid.

Arthas was at best subtly influenced. But before he took up Frostmorne his decision were his own. Illidan was not corrupted but he certain took many many questionable actions. Kael was not crazy.

Hmmm I interpreted the receiving of her “soul” as her good will returning, but I could be wrong. Who knows anyway? We could all be wrong by the time this expansion concludes lol

Hes basically the wow version of vegeta lets be real. Malf is legit Goku if he didnt fall off the mountain but instead created the mountain. “This angers me greatly.”

Tyrande is with child, but it’s not malfurion’s.

In fact, I am that they have nothing and if they have for 9.2 I am thinking that it will be rushed and very, very last minute, like when you just did a homework that they gave you a week ago.

We will see the result if they do to save the expansion with a good patch, or they only dedicated to censoring content to save their neck from a good image of governments and political systems that it was not convenient to have been linked with this bureaucratic grace that they do not care that nothing is funny.
