Just because you’re not hyped… so sorry for you. But there are a LOT who are hyped. Stop trolling.
Bro, WW1 was a one-off, being a global conflict between ancient royalist dynasties that revolved entirely around trench warfare and saw the first widespread uses of chemical warfare.
Being a one-off is not downplaying something in any way, the fact that they will likely never release two expansions in a row that both feel fresh, new and directly connect us to the existing lore is just a fact. They exhausted the base they started with and have to explore new writing, which is always going to be experimental and is going to suffer because people coming into it don’t have the added investment of, for instance, waiting for years for a shot at revenge against Arthas.
This doesn’t make everything bleak however, they have the chance now to start developing their own history, we have older threats which kind of faded into the background which could start coming back.
Or better yet, it’s a perfect time to have a “and then it all went quiet” expansion, especially now with warbands, rebuild the world entirely from the ground-up as a place that has been at peace for some time and “bring us back out of retirement” normalized to level 1 again with all the lessons they have learned gameplay wise baked into a contiguous experience. We have the bronze DF to access legacy content that players might still want to get at, but a chance to have the entire world developed for the new systems gives them way more they could do with what is presently a massive amount of dead bloat. (3/4 of the EK and Kalimdor are basically unused zones these days).
i could go for a 4th elf over a 3rd dwarf
Warbands for excample.
That’s the problem, though. You give the Horde a new race and the Alliance… nothing. Same with Vulpera vs a customization option for gnomes or Dracthyr with female humans and… again, no new model for the Alliance.
DEI Hires.
A universal problem.
Personally, I expect a big wave of hype should come from Gamescom Wed, Aug 21, 2024 – Sun, Aug 25, 2024. It is my understanding that Blizzard has got quite a bit to announce during this event which lines up with the launch of TWW.
launch is the 27th?
What are you getting hyperbolic about?
If I’m openly, justifiably criticizing wow, while subbed, clearly I want it to do well.
Can you understand that or is it going over your head again?
They’ve already announced everything, and many have already played the beta. What else is there to come? Unless they decide to talk about Midnight already.
openly criticizing is fair forum use, well said kala
Clearly
That’s very true. I do wish they had also added in Harronir as a playable race, but for the Alliance. Shake things up for everyone and let each side get a taste of a Race ftom the other. (Harronir mainly because Troll/Elf, with a little more Troll than elf)
Inquiry: Did Metzen work on the last 2 expansions?
a beast like ally race would be nice
I am expecting the expansion roadmap and maybe a glimpse at 11.1 and what 11.2 will have in store. Remember we still have a new class on the horizon and maybe even a few more allied races. Not to mention the Dracthyr and what other classes they will soon be able to be. So, we got some stuff to get hyped for.
maybe those cat ppl from wod
Warbands as a Quality of Life feature actually scuffed my character select list- instead of it being sorted per server, it’s now 1 giant list of names, not servers lol And the 4 main characters at the top are buggy af xD
So maybe if I take S1 off while y’all do some live beta testing, maybe it will improve quality of life when I get back?
Also, I think it’s funny it took 245 comments before someone said, “oh, oh, I can’t wait for the third version of dwarfs!”
They technically have it, but they definitely need a full blown one. Not another Human who can become a beast but go back to being a human.
It wouldn’t really be the same, because Harronir are merely night elves with more weight and some Quilboar features. The idea was to swap models between factions or introduce something new, which the devs have stubbornly refused to do for the Alliance for some reason.
In general, I find it quite ridiculous to still cling so desperately to racial segregation, though. Instead of copying races, which just looks cheap, they could make them neutral so everyone can have their favorite races in their favorite faction. The select screen already looks very crowded and cheap with all the copy-and-paste races.
