Is there diminishing returns on stuns?

Just wondering if there is a diminishing return on stuns. I play only in the winter time because I have no time during the spring, summer, fall because of my company. So I have to catch up every winter. I seem to remember in the past something about diminishing returns. I have played a lot of BG’s lately and I have been stun locked severely and repeatedly with no recourse. I have the one item to break the stuns but after that is like I need to just sit back and watch them pummel me to death lol.

thank you for the info. Now is that per person or does that apply if you are getting stunned by multiple people. Say they are trading off stuns. Does it start fresh from a different attacker?

Yes there are diminishing returns. They are not per attacker. If you get stunned by two people at once, the first stun is cleared by the second and it will last 50%.

First stun: 100%
Second stun: 50%
Third stun: 25%
Fourth stun: 0%

Goes for all CC groups (incap, poly, fear etc). Some CCs are grouped together (i.e. cyclone, fear, mind control).

Pick your battles in a BG, and use your own CC to disrupt the enemy.

as a healer its pretty rough in random battlegrounds. It seems they all just charge the healer even through the melee protecting.

it’s universal so if I, a rogue, stun you for a full kidney shot, it would be 6s

if a demon hunter stuns you again within 18s, it’ll last 2s (its full duration is 4s)

edit:
if a Paladin waits 18s and stuns you, it will be the full 5s duration

ok, that is very good information. I appreciate that answer very much.

They have to hit the healer or they will never kill anything. Your team should be helping you to stay alive by peeling, healing, etc.

BGs are a bit of a clusterf- so you can’t rely on much but a good team helps each other out.

Lot of CC can be used as a “Psuedo stun” where it’s used on a target to disrupt them rather than CC them.

An example is Fear: It breaks at a certain threshold of damage. It normally lasts 6s, but it can break after 1-3s depending on the damage done during it.

Some people even use things like Grip (low tier DK players) or Paralysis (when it was a shorter CD) as a psuedo interrupt. Paralysis breaks instantly on any damage, but it still stops your casts.

edit:
Some healers are good at surviving DPS without help more than others.
