Is there data on Chromie Time selections?

I love Dungeon leveling, and I prefer the Cata/Vanilla path (for Vanilla Dungeons) but am I choosing the one with the longest queue times?

I dont really know.

I never felt anydifference. All i can tell you is that if you want easy dungeon play on BC lots of full socketed twinks

I wouldn’t know. I have always chosen WoD. For access to the Garrison and the WoD Master Pet Tamers. Usually was able to level up fast with just questing in a couple of zones and pet battles. Never really did the WoD dungeons so I don’t do any dungeons leveling now.

Be interested in hearing other experiences.

Mabe on subject.
If you are on a long wait. The system will ask you if you want to try other random time lines.

I found that Classic had the shortest que and fastest clear time. MoP/Cata dungeons are usually faster to complete, but I encountered quite a few long ques even as a tank for them.

DPS ques for Classic were ~5-9minutes.

i always pick BC, anecdotally i think a lot of people pick wod

having actual numbers would be interesting

Yes, for solo leveling WoD is the fastest.

For dungeons it would probably be BFA or Cata

i like mop and bc for dungeons personally

im surprised cata dungeons are considered fast, from memory i always found their mechanics and forced flight/long elevators components annoying :joy:

They’re the shortest if everyone gets the mechanics down on the first pull. After my third run of a dungeon that needed to backfill several times, I just went back to queing classic.

I’m Chromie time, the cata selection includes all vanilla dungeons. You don’t start going cata dungeons until after level 30

That’s why it is a popular choice for dungeon leveling

oh i see. yeah okay i was just imagining doing grim batol/lost city/halls/throne over and over lol

You can go to WoD after picking Cata time though. Queue vanilla dungeons while questing in draenor. You just have to pick it off the missionboard. (Which requires accepting quests until it shows up…)

There’s data on everything but I doubt they’ll ever make us privy to that.

I don’t know that there is queue time data by era. Logically BFA would be shortest since all new and many returning players will be locked to that one, on top of those who actively choose it. WoD was also the fastest expasion to level through post-squish so you could usually get a group in their handful of dungeons fairly quickly.

I expect Cata wouldn’t be the longest - a lot of people pick it since it includes the revamped Vanilla content and thus has the largest variety of dungeons for any expansion by far.

The most important thing is that even if you end up with a long queue time, they do open you up to the other eras at that point which will result in a group being found fairly quickly. So there’s effectively a cap on your queue time even if you choose “wrong.”

It’s BC, the level 20 f2p twink community is massive. All decked out with highest ilvl legendary weapons and everything socketed. It’s what broke my mind seeing little lvl 10’s and 20 absolutely smoke the dps meter. It’s wild because lvl 20 ftp decked out can solo pretty much all the 5-man’s.

The communities this game spawns will always shock me.

Nothing about that seems appealing but I don’t care. I’m jumping in the TBC timeline to see what this is like.

I pick Legion for the classes I didn’t unlock the class mounts for yet. Right now, I have 5 left.

Cata with Classic dungeons have very fast queue times. 10-15 minute queue for dps, 10 minute for healer, instant for tank. The dungeons are mostly easy and almost all feature 2-3 (or more) quests for bonus xp. Cata endgame dungeons have much longer queue times. They’re not popular for leveling because some mechanics are pretty punishing. Pug groups tend to break up. You can do them if you’re persistent, but the xp/hour will be a lot worse than classic dungeons.

You can set your hearth to the embassy and go there whenever you want to change the dungeons you are running.

There’s 10’s and 15’s, too. And most of the twinks you run into in dungeons aren’t free to play. They’re just somebody’s character that is more fun to play than end game.

I have not seen a legendary weapon on a twink for years. A low level can’t get those. You have to be level 30 to enter a raid.

Free to play characters can’t use the AH. They can’t trade with other players. They cannot speak or initiate whispers. So anyone you see with gems is an alt of a higher level player.

It’s loads of fun.

Close.
