After all the years of Wow, I am wondering if there is something that has yet to be discovered… Like some remotely located NPC in some cave somewhere in the World of Warcraft that no one has found yet? Or some location that has yet to visited by any toon?
I thought of this as I used the underwater cave on the Timeless Isle (MoP) to teleport to Gorgrond (WoD). I wondered how long it had taken for someone to find it. I know, with datamining and Wowhead, information doesn’t stay secret very long. But it IS nice to think that there is some nook, some cranny that has yet to be discovered…
The dataminers would have been able to find it if it’s actively in the game. There might be some sitting in old encrypted files that they can’t see but those wouldn’t be actually viewable or live in the game.
it would be cool if they did start scattering some more secrets across azeroth…it’s one of my favorite things they ever do, but it seems to always be centered around current content.
i hope they start hiding more things for us.
I do want to say, the detail added to grey items over the years has impressed me for sure. For anyone that like lore even just a little bit, it’s really nice to see blizz still has those types of employees
Which if fables (and yes technically a fairytale or parable but whatever) taught me anything come from a princess. So one step closer.
I love that the current theory from cryptozoologists is you cant find Big Foot because hes inter-dimensional. That’s right an interdimensional Yeti, that’s the ticket, thats why you cant find him.

The devs like to put secrets in the game. So who knows what crazy things are waiting to be discovered.
Maybe a ritual to ascend to near god like status, as my Warlock becomes a Lich and binds what remains of his soul to a phylactery! … Or, maybe a mount or toy that no one has seen yet.
I remember after the murloc pet Terky was found me and my GM of the time spent like the next week just exploring all the remotes nooks, crags, and crannies to try and find any hidden secrets like it.
We didn’t.
BUT it was a ton of fun just exploring everywhere. Occasionally when I feel the WoW itch but don’t have the patience or attention span for more “normal” content, I’ll go on random exploring sprees. Either visiting my personal favorite sites or seeing if i’ll have any luck finding anything new.
Sometimes I will find cool stuff that I hadn’t ever run into before. Even though they may be old news, for me I’m discovering an exciting new secret because it was something I had no idea existed.

During the boat week I decided to sail around each continent and on the southern end of Kalimdor on the outside edge of AQ there’s a large cave with a big sleeping red dragon.
In Eastern plaguelands behind the clouds/smog above stratholme there’s an old untextured version of Naxxramas I found while messing around with Shaman Far Sight.
Behind the Gates of Zul’aman there’s a large mountain range but beyond the range is an uninstanced versioned of the city I found while playing with the Darkmoon Cannon.
Sometimes I hate that i’ll keep up to date with stuff on wowhead cause I deprive myself from finding cool secrets like this which is one of the cool things a MMORPG can potentially offer. Though at the same time some of the secrets are so convoluted and complicated I doubt I’d ever have a chance at figuring them out on my own.
