Is there anyone else that finds the WoWhead Weekly pop up annoying?

I have it blocked on PC, but not on my phone. I just don’t care to know or hear about the comments of the two hosts( never learned their names). Most aggravating is it opens no matter if I click a topic or back track to the pervious page. Just have it as a link like all the other topics. It really just serves as a add pop up in disguise.

Never had this. Where are you encountering it?

I have never seen this. How does Wowhead manage to put pop ups on your phone? Or even your computer, for that matter?

Haven’t seen a pop up like you describe.

If you have a ad blocker you should not see it. However, when you open Wowhead a pop-up video will open that plays the Wowhead Weekly Discussion that hosted by two girls. It nothing interesting than just to advertise for Blizzard by making whatever they have next sound more exciting. There’s also commercial breaks snuck in to make it appear not an add pop up.

So it’s a marketing tool for advertisement. Perhaps get an ad blocker, then. Though I do not have one on my phone and do not see what you speak of there. But your issue is easily resolved, it seems. I see nothing wrong with them advertising for the game in which they provide information.

Get google chrome, addblock on goog chrome(app). GG. Phone browser apps have adblock too.

Anyone else feeling similarly about the Bnet app? More and more these days it looks like something that my adbocker usually protects me from seeing lol

Yeah Wowhead found a solution to getting around it for some time, but I was able to find blockers that kill all them.

uBlock Origin is by far the best adblocker for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge and will handle things like that popup with ease.

Other blockers might also work, but be careful because some of them let advertisers pay them to be unblocked… regular uBlock as well as just plain “AdBlock” do this. uBlock Origin on the other hand runs entirely on donations and does not accept advertiser bribes.

Only happens to my mobile Firefox where I can’t install Adblock extensions

I typically have Wowhead open on my second monitor most of the day, and just mentally ignore the two cat ladies in the bottom corner.

I am a lot more bothered by the ads served right above their window which seem to be telepathically accurately targeted. Like, I say to my wife “hey I was thinking about buying a new watch” and then bam all day watch ads.

The constant ads about toe fungus are what turned me off of that website.

Doesn’t wowhead use targetted ads?

You just told everyone u have toe fungus hahaha

1+1=3 keep posting on alts mvp of the forums.

Bro its not my fault you have toe fungus, click the ads and get cured

The ads you get can be odd if you have your browser locked down with anti-tracking stuff. You either get something super broadly targeted, like with TV ads, or something super off the wall based on some tiny bit of data the ad system picked up somewhere and is incorrectly interpreting as a signal.

I don’t usually see ads because I keep adblockers running, but on the odd occasion that I haven’t I’ve been served ads that are wholly irrelevant, like ads for trucks when trucks are probably the single most badly matched vehicle for my situation.
