Is there any way to Opt Out of the

Trust level system?

Editing OP because I’ve gotten the responses I needed to my question.

No need to respond further. Thank you to those who provided the answer to my question.

You literally do not hear about it anywhere and have to manually edit the URL of your profile and dig through a mess of text to figure out what TL you are.

Why are you acting like it’s somehow in your face?

You could always just ignore it, seeing as I don’t even know where to find my Trust Level.

The people saying “JUTS IGNORE IT XD” are forgetting one simple thing: if op ignores it then how will they be offended by it? Gawd…

I just wish I would stop losing Trust Level 3 all because I take a week off of forum posting to actually play WoW. :pensive:

I wanna share some memes, darnit!

You will get a notification in message saying gratz…you have a higher trust level.

Got this a few times. I have had a few “vacations” so a few resets of that trust level to get more promotions lol.

The fastest way to see your general trust level is to check the main forums page and see if you have access to “Lounge”. You’ll know you are in the general range of lvl 3 or above.

I’ve had some penalties on the forums and retain a lvl 3 trust level. I’m humbled that I still have the trust level that allows me to see the goofy posts in the lounge section and the availability to post pictures. Sometimes I get out of my depth and Blizzard has to spank my wrists with a silence for a day or two. I do generally try to help others in the forums or try and post with an unbiased view; but I definitely get riled up about the PvP gear being tied to rating since I’m a hardcore random battleground spammer who has no love for rated content.

Go to your Activity page and you should see it. I think ‘Regular’ is 3

FWIW I think the rule that gets most people is “visit the forums 50 out of 100 days” or something. Taking a week off shouldn’t break that.

Oh. Huh. Is Trust Level Account Wide? I didn’t think it was but this alt is also ‘Regular’ and can post images.

I’ve heard people say they lost it by posting on multiple characters, but can’t verify it.

Because I get messages from them (whoever it is) telling me about it. I just got one today, when I came into GD.

They show up in the notifications tab.

No, that’s not it. When I get these notifications, I click on them because Idk who it’s from or what it’s about.
When it’s green I have an idea it’s from Blizzard (or whoever handles these forums) but that’s it.

So today I get a green notification. I click on it because that’s the only way to make it go away. Plus, Idk if I’ve somehow offended someone so I need to see it.

And it’s about a trust level. There’s a link to a page that tells me all about TLs, something I don’t care about. It happened a couple times now and since I’m not interested in this, I don’t want to see these particular notifications as I don’t post enough to actually use a TL, it’s redundant.

I understand getting the notifications telling me I’ve been bad, getting spanked for however many days, stuff like that is fine but I’m not interested in TLs.

That’s it. I’m not offended, I’m not interested and was simply asking about this. I hope this has cleared it up for you.

I think they might be giving them out to a lot of people now, I can’t be the only one getting these notifications and maybe because there aren’t as many posting anymore.
Not sure about that last part, was the only thing I could think of.

short answer: NO

Long Answer: It’s per character so basically you could post on multiple characters but the more you post the higher the level will get and eventually you will get a notification about it on one or more characters. Basically the short answer above.

It sounds like the tldr; of this is that, since messages from mod actions have the same notification icon as informational messages, OP panics everytime they see a green notification.

Don’t worry about it, you’ll get used to it, especially when people use the flagging system as a downvote option.

Tab to the forums when you’re on an fp to somewhere. That’s what I do.

Unless you look at your profile page, you’ll never have any idea what TL you are.

I mean I’d rather not be bothered by the notifications for TLs. I could have been more clear about that. Sorry.

I’ve gotten a whole two notifications that I just dismissed outright. I don’t understand the issue.

Panic isn’t the right word, more like aggravated but yeah, you understand what I mean. Ty for that.

There’s probably no way to turn them off and you’ll get one pretty quickly on every new character you post on. There’s a whole three that come in. And the third takes ages to get. Three times in roughly a year should not be “aggravating.”

Do what I do: see it, roll your eyes, dismis it and move on.

Changing characters will only make you see them more often.
