Since the 11.0.5 patch the launcher now requires checking for updates every time before enabling the Play button. This takes about half a minute each time. Is there any way to launch WoW directly, and not use the launcher? The update every time is driving me crazy.

You can launch the game by opening the game app.
Open Finder, go to
Applications
World of Warcraft
and then double click the World of Warcraft.app icon.
You will have to log in to your Battle.net account in-game since you didn’t open it via the launcher.
You can also right-click the app icon in that folder and choose to “make alias,” which will create a shortcut that you can drag anywhere, such as your desktop, for quicker future access.
Keep in mind the Launcher does make sure you are running the correct game version. If you manually launch WoW and there has been an update, you still have to run the Launcher.
